I heard EPCOT has a talking water fountain. Where? My girls would get a kick out of this.

We've seen the trash can in MK Tomorrowland before. It's great. I heard AK has something similar, but it's a recycle bin. True? If so, where?

Are there certain times for the photopass people who take the pictures in front of Haunted Mansion? Don't they later add a ghost horse or something to your photo? If you stand there and listen, does the ghost horse really whiney?

We've seen the talking trash bin/recycle bin at AK usually out front by the gates. Usually entertaining people waiting near the tree for the others in their party to be let in after having their bags checked.

I want to say we saw the talking trash can outside of the Nemo ride at Epcot? I also want to say I saw something like that in Animal Kingdom somewhere in the Dinosaur area. I also think I've seen one in Tomorrowland at MK.

I have missed the talking water fountain though. The kids would love that.

I don't know about a talking fountain but there is a trash can in Tomorrowland at MK and a recycling bin at Rafiki's Planet Watch at AK.

this was posted on the secrets thread
The talking fountains are by the restrooms on the side of Innovations facing The Land. As you come through the centre of the building walking towards The Land, make a quick left turn. They are right there and outside Mousegear shop, behind Innovations West, near the restroom between Innovations and HISTA Pavilion,we never found them, but that may have been the day that i left my list behind:headache: I've only got another 9months or so till i can try again.... maybe someone can fill us in as to whether they are still there/still talk.

PUSH the talking trashcan can sometimes be found in Tommorowland. He was also in Mainstreet entertaining guests waiting for the parade in April.

The fountains no longer talk in Epcot.

The talking trash can in Tomorrowland is named PUSH. The talking recycling bin in Rafiki's Planet Watch is named PIPA. :)

and there is a talking trash can inside the electric umbrella at epcot, but it's pre-recorded, not interactive.

Ah, Rafiki's Planet Watch. I was really trying to figure that out...I could see it in my head, but I kept thinking that was the Dinosaur area. Not even close! :rotfl:

Not my most helpful moment...but I'm glad that you reminded me because the kids really enjoyed it and would love to see it again!

First time DS4 saw PUSH he thought was pretty funny. He was 2 at the time, and was for some reason enamored by trash cans, always spotting them wherever we were and point them out to everyone. After that, he would approach all trash cans very carefully. And then he'd open them up slightly and try to peak in. When we got home, I was watching Star Wars, and he told me, "I saw him at Disney World". The "him" was R2-D2, haha.

Two years ago I had a personal interaction with "Push" in Tomorrowland. But I think they should call him Pushy, because he wouldn't leave me alone.

There's also the talking palm tree at AK, Wes Palm. At least "he" was there in August.

Sorry to report Wes Palm retired around the first of September, 2008.

I wonder why they stopped the talking fountain in EPCOT. Surely it was not a cost cutting measure. I jumped the first time I drank out of this fountain. I made sure to stop at it each trip, but alas, it is no longer. I understand Wes Palm, that takes resources, but not a water fountain!!!

They involved using computers for the fountains' voices (it was "high-tech" at the time.)

And, some of the fountains featured sync'ed fiber-optic lighting effects, as well.

They would have required maintenance from both plumbing and technology departments.

(BTW, I miss them, too. Lot's of fun to sit nearby and watch as each new guest "discovered" them.)

If you want to surprise someone, get them to sit on the park bench by Goofy on Main St. in MK just outside of Exposition Hall. I sat there to rest my weary feet during the final hour of the P&PP and almost jumped out of my skin when old Goof started talking to me.
