Talking water fountain? Talking recycle bin?

If you want to surprise someone, get them to sit on the park bench by Goofy on Main St. in MK just outside of Exposition Hall. I sat there to rest my weary feet during the final hour of the P&PP and almost jumped out of my skin when old Goof started talking to me.

VERY NEAT. I have never experienced this one. THANKS

I wonder why they stopped the talking fountain in EPCOT. Surely it was not a cost cutting measure. I jumped the first time I drank out of this fountain. I made sure to stop at it each trip, but alas, it is no longer. I understand Wes Palm, that takes resources, but not a water fountain!!!

OMG. i was looking for a water fountain - the ornamental type, like the jumping/dancing ones. i had no idea it was a talking drinking fountain

We had lunch at the Electric Umbrella in Epcot a few days ago. I finished eating before DW and DD did and went to find the talking drinking fountain because I knew DD would get a kick out of it. I searched for a few minutes in the area I remembered finding it many years ago and had no luck. There was a Cast member nearby and I asked him where I could find it. He told me that the fountain was "broken" and no longer made noises..... well, other than normal drinking fountain noises at any rate. From the way he was talking it seemed like there were no plans to fix it.

It kind of bummed me out, it was a little thing, but it's little things like that which really add to the magic.

DH had a funny encounter with PUSH in Tomorrowland. We were finding a little area to sit and eat our hot dogs when he happen to sit next to PUSH. I thought it was just a regular trash bin but when it asked DH what he was eating. DH jumped so high and I just rolled laughing. It was so hilarious. So we ended up having a conversation with a trash bin.

in time, memories of the fountain will fade as other things may or may not come along.

i see no mention of herb and flora for example.
