Is it necessary to use a FP for this? Is it open during EMH or during party times?

Most of the people I know would say no need for a fp but I dunno... the lines have always been kinda long when I’m there.

If you are a Party Guest you can visit him with a short wait. He should be wearing Holiday attire instead of his magician outfit.

I've used a FastPass the last two times and think it's worth it. Talking Mickey takes some time even with FP just because of how the line moves. If he's a must see for you, I think it's not a bad use.

It may depend on who is in your party. As previously mentioned, there is still a bit of a wait even with a FP. My (at the time) 18 month old wasn’t really into doing lines, so it was definitely worthwhile that we had a FP to see him.

Didn't you and the 18 mo have to wait in any other attraction lines?

We never got in a line that was more than 10 minutes. We were pretty efficient through use of FP+, rope drop, and attending EMM. We were also there the 2nd week of May, so crowds weren’t too horrible. And he’s not tall enough for most of the headliners.

I know, and every time I go its regular head Mickey. Is it me? Does talking Mickey not like me?
I believe that’s the reason. ;)

If you are there at a slow time, you can discreetly ask the CM, who is loading the rooms, if Mickey has his voice that day. Explain your 0 for 2 experience and offer to wait, if necessary.

If there is a long line to meet Mickey, the strategy won’t work and you’ll be loaded into the next available room where Mickey may or may not be talking.

We plan on just hitting it at rope drop on one of our Mk days for our 2 year old... for us its still not really worth a FP since traveling with an 11 year old as well and wanted to be able to hit the big attractions with little wait

I thought talking Mickey was really, really creepy. I've never quite been able to feel the same way about Mickey Mouse since.

Im starting to re think the whole talking mickey Ive heard several people say they thought it was creepy I want him to enjoy his first meeting with mickey.....

Don't be scared off by others' comments. For a child, it's fine and not creepy.

Just back from a trip with a 3 1/2 and almost 2 year old. Mickey was the only character that the 2 year old ran to before his big brother. But just realize (as I'm sure you do) that all of these character meets are completely unpredictable with a 2 year old. Some of them he loved and ran up and hugged and others he cried and wanted to be in my arms. No rhyme or reason to it. My advice is just let the 2 year old control the interactions. The characters and handlers are experienced in how to try to make it work and you can totally read their cues as to when it's time to cut bait and move on if it's going poorly.

I visit WDW with another adult. We met talking Mickey for the first time last month and we enjoyed it. Mickey was amusing and not at all creepy. It seemed like spontaneous conversation, which surprised us after seeing videos where it appeared to be preselected dialogue. We did not enjoy the twenty minute wait we had with a "fast" pass.

My husband and I did this during MVMCP (5 minute wait straight after the 1st parade) and it was one of the highlights of our trip!!
