Talking about non-face characters...

How do you feel about them? Do you want more of them to talk? Or would you rather that they leave the talking to the face characters?

I admit, as cute as Talking Mickey is (and I love his set as well), I really don't need him to talk. I think it's also confusing for kids...they see Mickey talking there, but then he isn't talking anywhere else.

Your opinion? :)

I say bring on all the talking characters!

Sometimes, especially when you're a solo adult interacting with characters, it's weird. I always feel like I either need to be mute, too, or fill up the space and talk talk talk. The first time I saw talking Mickey, I nearly sobbed. Good tears, mind you. Yes, right now it's limited, but imagine in the not-too-far future when characters can actually TALK? When they can go off more than a few phrases, and really wow the house? To me, it can't come fast enough. I'm actually bummed others like Donald and Minnie aren't already chatting up the place.

Aw! :goodvibes

Yes more and more please. My son called him the real mickey. It was priceless.

Aw, that's cute. Finally, the REAL Mickey :)

Mine had the opposite reaction. Well, I think it was coming anyway, but I think Talking Mickey pushed my kids, well the younger one anyway, into really confronting the fact that the characters weren't real. I don't know why! But she walked out of there and all she wanted to talk about was "how did they make him talk"? lol

We met Talking Mickey and while it was cute, it was also a bit weird because he actually looked you in the eye and talked to you.

I'm looking forward to meeting Talking Mickey. I'm not sure if it would work with ALL characters, but some SURE!!

Yeah, it felt awkward. He seemed like he was just talking to talk, like spouting out jokes nonstop lol

I really liked it, but I wonder if I just liked the set and the decorations and how they have it set up even if he wasn't talking.

But how is that weird? When adults don't look other adults in the eye and talk to each other, that's considered weird. But when a character looks at you, it's weird? :duck:

I really do like the fact that Mickey talks…but in one location only! I definitely don't want every character in every location to be able to talk, it would take away something from the experience, don't ask me how or why, but I like it when it's like a game of charades sometimes.

And rumours have it we're getting Minnie talking pretty soon

I'm pretty indifferent to it. My 12 year old DD said she would rather meet Mickey elsewhere as she finds it a bit creepy. Perhaps to a smaller child there is a different appeal. I'm happy to go with the majority on this one.

I agree with this. One location is plenty!

Well face characters talk & no one finds it weird. I think it's weird only because he can't actually talk. He can only spout a few phrases. When we can have a full conversation - that will be cool.

our visit with talking Mickey was really awkward. he tried to get my toddler to "fly" like Peter Pan. my little guy just kind of stood there with a frozen smile. then, he wanted them to pose like they were flying. that picture is just awkward and funny looking. my DD 12 played along, but she looks awkward too.

Because Mickey is traditionally mute. So it's uncanny when he can actually speak to you.

we don't. the talking Mickey ruined it for my 7 year old. She said it was not the real Mickey after she met the talking Mickey. I felt sad after that.

I think it was AMAZING.

I think my photo says it all. It was an amazing experience.

I wouldn't mind if there was a talking Goofy and Minnie, but I think only one talking character and in only one location. Not multiples of each talking. I think it makes it that much more magical:confused3

I am all for more characters talking!!!:cool1:
