Barcelona has some extraordinary architecture. I hope you enjoy it! We loved La Sagrada Familia, Casa Battlo and Parc Guell, in particular. We rode the funicular to Montjuic Castle and enjoyed that, too. What a view! There is also Tibidabo amusement park on a nearby mountain. We didn't have the chance to get there, but I've heard it's nice. Montserrat is close to Barcelona, too. We're booked on the TA next May. I'm looking forward to a totally relaxing trip and a tour of Barcelona at the end.
We're doing a land tour of Italy next year. We did two weeks in Eastern Europe this year. We rotate land tours and cruises, my job doesn't give me enough time for 3 weeks of back to backs. You’re all the way over in Europe. Don’t waste the travel time. Take a back to back cruise on dcl or another cruise line that week and do Italy. That’s what we did. It was so much fun!
We're definitely going to La Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell, I'll check out Casa Battlo. We also plan on doing a cooking class and a sail boat ride to watch the sun set on the Med. ( Though I'll see if I end up doing that one as I just got off a ship).Barcelona has some extraordinary architecture. I hope you enjoy it! You never really know until you try but sea days can be wonderful. As mentioned you can do as much or as little as you like since there is no rush to get off or back on the boat.I'm thinking I'd be in heaven. But folks around me say - too many days at sea, could make one a little stir crazy.
Thoughts?
We did our first B2B cruise as a 10 night Med/14 night WBTA cruise. Just the perfect blend. First 10 days, 8 port stops, go, go, go. Next 14 days, 5port stops, lots of sea days to rest up.
We also travelled to Montserrat and wine country when we were in Barcelona after one of the TA Cruises.
The other TA ended in Copenhagen, and then we flew Iceland Air and stayed in Iceland for a couple of nights.
This time we are spending time in Paris and Normandy before. I think TAs have been some of our best cruises!
I haven't done a transatlantic (on my list though) but we are booked on the 14 night Panama Canal cruise next spring and I am very much looking forward to all the sea days.
We're recently back from our longest cruise yet - 28 nights Hawaii/Tahiti round trip out of San Diego.I've done panama canal cruises 2x - and thought they were long (in a GOOD way - the longest vacations I've ever taken off work) - but I must say I am envious and look forward to the day when I can take a 24+ night vacation!![]()
Sounds amazing! maybe someday..................We're recently back from our longest cruise yet - 28 nights Hawaii/Tahiti round trip out of San Diego.
