This year, my family is taking me to [forcing me to go to] HHN this year. My dad is super excited to do a whole-family trip (mom, dad, DS29, DB21, me & my husband). I'm 1000% a Mickey's Not So Scary kind of person, though. I LOVE Halloween but the two haunted houses I've been to in my life made me cry. Please, tell me about HHN. Will I hate it? How do I have fun when I really dislike people/things jumping out at me? It's 5 months away and I'm already nervous. Any suggestions for YouTubers who show the fun side instead of what I keep finding which is super dark (like I can't see what's happening) and loud videos from inside the haunted houses that don't really show me what the event as a whole is like?

I don’t think Universal allows filming inside the houses. I believe Some of the bigger YouTubers get invited to an early lights on walk through, you might search for those.

HHN is not scary per say, very much a PG-13 kinda “scare” but jump scares are the name of the game, scare actors are actively trying to sneak up on you and scare you as you walk through the scare zones. If you really, really don’t like “Boo” kind of scares you should not go. Just have a restful evening at your hotel pool or lounge and let the rest of your family enjoy HHN. You can still go to the park together and have a great time during the day.

I am terrified of our local haunted houses. For our local houses, there is no conga lines, so all the scares are fresh, claustrophobia, tunnels are just to name a few.

HHN, I love! I like the conga line, so you can see a little bit a head of you. I have had no claustrophobia issues as you see employees everywhere, sometimes the ceiling and no horrible tunnels to crawl through.

There are the jump out scares, a lot of them. If those type of scares, this might not be your venue.
