I just got the go ahead to look into an early February trip! Yay! Still need to talk to my ds's teacher and make sure that will work but in the meantime...

How are weather and crowds? I've been in July which was hideously hot and May which was great every time.

We love going in February. The crowds are low since spring break hasn't started yet and the weather was so nice when we went. When we went it was 80s the whole trip & we swam everyday! I believe it was unseasonably warm that trip but depending on where you are traveling from, it may feel like a heat wave regardless! :)

We're coming from Missouri so I'm certain the weather will feel wonderful compared to what we'll be having here at that time.

I already talked to his teacher and she feels like February is a good time so that's not a problem.

My biggest issue at this point is, I'd really like to be there for his birthday on the 6th but there's a school spelling bee on the 7th. He might not even be in it but he's qualified before so I'm not sure how he'd feel about that.

There's also a chance we'd do a split stay, first several days with just me and my ds. Then my Mom might come for a couple days. It's just a lot to think about but AHHH! SO excited we're gonna go again soon!

We went the first week of February this past year. The weather was colder than average for that time of year in Florida, but coming in the dead of winter from Massachusetts we thought the weather was warm! Crowds were very low. I kept taking pictures in Animal Kingdom because there was not a single person in sight. Have fun:)

Empty empty empty. Lowest crowds ever at all the parks. But the time we went, the weather was pretty bad. Dreary and chilly so I can't say I'm overly e excited about that time of year again, but would consider.

We are considering a trip during that time too. Our schools here have a teacher in-service/winter break the first 3 days of February (Mon, Tues and Wed). And they don't really do too much the remaining 2 days of that week, so it would be a really good time to go. Enjoy your trip!

We are booked for the second week of February. We went the same week last year and it was great. Weather was warm and the crowds were low. There were still some waits for the more popular rides but nothing unreasonable. It only rained on one day.

We've only gone once in early February and it was in 2010. It was freezing cold (40 degrees and windy). From what the CM's said, it was a highly unusual thing and it was because of El nino weather pattern or something to that effect. We are going again this year in early February hoping for warmer weather :goodvibes

We are also going the 1st week of Feb. I'm sure the weather will be fabulous compared to what we have in northern Indiana in Feb. We have never been there in Feb either and I just read the rumor that splash mountain will be closed.:sad1::sad1::sad1: We are totally bummed since this is our favorite ride. I just hope crowd level is low and not too many other rides are closed.

Cold, very cold. It was a record cold year when we went though - 2010. We were there the end of Jan/start of Feb. We managed through the cold and crowds were super low. We haven't gone back that time of year though since we don't want to risk it being that cold. Disclaimer, we live in the southeast. However, it was in the 30's for a high some that year! That's a low and a cold low to me. Cold is better than heat - I'd gamble with weather that time of year before I'd think about May-Sept.

Thanks everyone!

We've decided to go ahead and book for the first week of February. I'm so excited about this trip.

Not really concerned about the cold-I'm in Missouri and the first week of Feb is likely to be much colder than that here. And if I'm gonna be cold, I'd rather be cold in Disney. :woohoo:
