Talk to me about Boulder Ridge, please!

I’ve never considered staying at Boulder Ridge because I prefer the main building with Copper Creek, but going forward we need a studio that sleeps 5, so now I’m looking into it. How far is the walk to the boat from Boulder Ridge? Is it a hassle not having a place to get food in the building? (I believe all the food/drinks are over at the main WL building but please correct me if I’m wrong!)

Does BR have its own bell services and front desk or is everything handled over at the WL main building?

For context, we’d have 3 studios, 3 strollers, and 1 wheelchair. Any other pros/cons I’m not thinking of? (We aren’t buying there - just planning to potentially use our points there on our next trip, as there is limited availability elsewhere.)

Depending on where your rooms are located in BRV, it can be a bit of a long walk to the boat dock. But closer to the bus stops. I never had an issue with getting food, but again, if you are at the end of the long hall, it can be a hike, and no, no food locations in the building. Also, not all the studios are next to each other, so you may not all be together. Many studios are part of 2BR lock offs, so that is something to consider. It is quieter than the main building and the rooms are recently renovated. No front desk or separate BS, all that is done in the main building. I personally love BRV, but I've always been lucky enough to get a room near the elevators, so a bit closer to the main lodge.

The only amenity in Boulder Ridge is the gym/steam room (which is of course open to all Wilderness Lodge guests) and laundry, which is only for Boulder Ridge guests. Everything else is in the main Wilderness Lodge building - bell services, dining, etc.

I personally like the separate, quieter feel of many DVC resorts - Boulder Ridge, Beach Club Villas, Kidani Village, etc.

I think it depends on what you consider a long walk. Compared to being at the end of a long hallway at Kidani or Boardwalk, it is short. The walkway to the main building is covered so that's a plus. Close to bus area. I realize with strollers and a wheelchair this is all more complex, but IMO not a bad walk. The WL area itself is compact when you compare to Saratoga or OKW.

Right, Boulder Ridge isn't really all that big.

I agree, overall it's much more compact! It isn't like Poly longhouses, SSR, OKW, Kidani rooms...it's really not a bad walk at all IMO. The BRV rooms were just refurbished too! We own at CCV and are actually staying at BRV our next trip. Can't beat the 5th sleeper in studios

From the Boulder Ridge entrance, it's maybe a 6 minute walk to the boat dock. Maybe 1 minute to the bus stop. The food and everything is in the main Wilderness Lodge building.
