I know there’s a marathon as well as Veterans Day - and of course Jersey Week. Is the marathon the weekend we’re arriving? (Veterans Day is weekend we’re leaving).

This is our first time in Disney this week so wondering what the crowds will be like? Weather? I know we have 5 months to go but I’m a way ahead planner.

TIA

This is our first time traveling this week but from everything I have read I plan on it being very busy.

The half marathon is the Sunday you arrive(5k/10k are Fri/Sat).

I'm there 11/2-11/11. It's my first time going this time of year and I'm expecting it to be very busy.

We've been many times during Jersey week. First few days are not bad, moderate crowds but by Friday on, the crowds are pretty heavy. The weather is perfect, not home & not cold. My family wear shorts & t-shirts and are comfortable all day.

It’s a busy week.

But I’ll take it over ANY October week and it is our preferred time to go now that I don’t have to work around my DDs post secondary school schedule.

We were there during that time 2 years ago and it was one of the busiest times we have been there. Not Spring Break or Christmas busy, but close. It is at the close of F&W, so that also makes it busier.

We went this exact week last year. It was busy, but we were able to get all the ADR's we wanted, all the FP's at the times we wanted, and were able to get extra FP'S as well. Out biggest issue was visiting MK. Not only were we competing with the Xmas party but they were filming for the Christmas show as well. For us the park hopper was vital this trip to enjoy F&W Festival early in the day and avoid the parties and filming when we wanted. The weather was warmer than expected, though once the sun set the evenings cooled down quickly. We usually go in June and I felt it was better than that time of the year.

We've been that week twice before. In terms of weather, both times we had fluctuations - rain and sun, cool and hot. One day the high was only 58 so we were freezing in the morning and at night. But a few days later, it was in the high 70s. We only found it warm enough to visit the pool once. So, my best advice would be to check the forecast right before you go and pack for all kinds of weather!

We are trying that week for the first time this year. Our last two trips were Christmas 2017 and Easter 2018, so I expect this trip to seem tame by comparison. LOL! But in all seriousness, I expect it to still be decently crowded, but manageable, especially for readers of this site.

We went 10/28 - 11/5 last year and 11/4 - 11/12 the year before. It really wasn't that bad. There were crowds but that's just WDW these days. The Wine & Dine races will have very little impact on your overall trip, IMO. However, Friday/Saturday nights on the 2016 trip were crazy busy in Epcot (not the busiest I've seen it but close). I think that had a lot to do with it being the last weekend of the Food & Wine Festival so a lot of locals were there plus some runners.

Just make sure you got your ADRs & FP+ booked and you'll have a great time!

The past two years I've read a fair share of trip reports and mini "just back" reports on the DIS for Jersey Week. They are so different depending on the person. Some say it was completely mobbed and others say crowds were manageable. One person even told me her August trip was much busier than her Jersey Week trip. I think it all depends on your tolerance and where you end up on any given day. If you are only going to Epcot on Friday and Saturday and MK on Sunday and Monday you may think it was completely mobbed. But if you avoid certain parks on certain days then you may think differently.

I think the best bet is to go in with a good plan and your FP+.

We were there 11/8 through 11/14 last year, so we missed the marathon, but we did experience Veterans Day/Jersey Week. I would say the weekend days were the most crowded. Weather wise, it was HOT the first couple of days and then it cooled down to high 70's/low 80's for the rest of the trip. We only wore sweatshirts a couple of evenings. If you're going to F&W, plan on weekdays during the day if you can - the evenings and weekends get really crowded. We did it that way and didn't wait in any super long lines for the food kiosks. We were able to get the FP's we wanted at the 60 day mark, although I did keep modifying times on a few of them to push them earlier in the day.

This is the second time we've gone at that time of the year and it's definitely busy, but manageable. I don't think there's any "non-busy" time anymore. Just have your must-do's planned and then go with the flow! :-)

I go 3-4 x/year including Jersey week 4 out of 5 recent years. Crowds are spring break level. Rope drop is your best friend. World Showcase will be THICK with people Friday, Saturday, (lesser extent) Sunday.

going back again that week, have been for about three years now. what really is getting me mad about it though is the airline prices are very high and higher then last year same time last year. they jack up the prices that week. and that's a factor perhaps for many. booked last night for that week again. not going back after that until 2020 and i may switch back to late august by then.
