I normally wouldn't be even asking for help on this, but in the back of my mind I'm thinking I have to have 2 windows on my computer open, etc. What is that all about? Or is it just as simple as just putting in your conf.#, name and go through the steps?

It's very simple - but be right at the 24 hour mark if you want A boarding passes, they go fast.

Just key in the name and confirm number and you are ok. If you have a few to do, dont worry about printing them ASAP - key them all in and then go back and print them.

To do this, you just rekey all the info back in and your boarding pass comes up again - it will NOT reassign you, you will get to print the boarding pass you were assigned.

But - if you have to check luggage, you can get your boarding passes at the airport - just go ahead and key in your confirm at the 24 hour mark and don't bother printing. This is what we did on our return flight.

Oh no way really, I can get my boarding passes and then print them at the airport!!!!:cool1: I dont have a printer anymore, as kids use them to print stupid things (well in my opinion..lol), so that is it....gone! I was going to go to the library and do it.

So how do you do it at the airport? I have luggage to check.

I have 3 passengers on one confirmation #. Will I have to check each person in separately, or will we all get checked in together under one confirmation?

If you have your confirm number you go to the e-check in line, key in your confirm number and it spits out a boarding pass. Meanwhile, the airport person tags your luggage and gives you your luggage slips. It's that easy!

Oh, and to put anyone's mind at ease - if you have kids and their boarding pass is after yours - say yours is A12 and the kid is A22, they won't care - kids board with parents regardless of the slot they get.

So if I print my boarding passes at home and then handle my luggage with skycap curb check in - I can just bypass the counter and go directly to the gate - correct?

Absolutely! And if you're using DME, you won't have to bother with luggage at all!:thumbsup2

AWESOME!!!! Thank you!!!! That makes it alot easier. Thanks for the info about the kids going with parents. I will have 12yr and 9yr old. 12 yr would be fine, 9 yr would freak if she had to sit with someone she didnt know....:rotfl2:

Oh one more thing - the day we flew out the line OUTSIDE was just as long as the line INSIDE, so you should check the line inside before you get in that outside line. And the e-check inside have several kiosks running at once, whereas the outside only had 2 people. I would say the e-check went way faster inside.

Families with kids that do not have an A boarding pass board in between the A and B boardings. If you have an A as indicated earlier, the family boards on the lowest number.

Make sure you login right at the 24 hours mark. This will give you a higher number. While all of the seats on SouthWest are the same (well exit row has more room), but you want to make sure you all get to sit together. Usually not a problem for a small family of three, but can be a pain when you have 5 like us.

Good luck.

Some folks here like to do everything they can to have the lowest possible number. I actually prefer to be a bit farther back in line. Back of the A's, or even front of the B's is fine.

I still try and log in at the 24-hour mark... but I don't worry about getting in that first second.

I just didn't want a repeat of a Delta flight we took years ago. :sad2: They separated my husband and I and we had our 1 year old daughter with us. When we went to the counter to say we needed seats together because of her, they told us to try to ask the people assigned to the seat next to us to swap! What jerks. I actually had people coming up to me later saying that the counter people treated us badly and we should complain.

Instead, we've never flown Delta again. They're not getting any more of my $$$.

I confess, I am one of the people that try to get the lowest number. Especially when traveling with my family. Most of my travel is by myself for work. My only concern there is to not get a middle seat. I'm 6'3" and weigh 280.

Have a great trip. We are flying SWA in November direct from Providence. Cannot wait.

Question: Is the 24 hour mark from the time of the flight or the day before at midnight?

Example: I have a flight on Aug 24th at 10:05 am. Can I check in on the 23rd at 12:01 a.m. or does it have to be 10:05?

10:05 - it is exactly 24 hours from your flight - whenever your flight time is.

Thanks, I am still unsure as to what my schedule will be the day before I leave. I am going to try and be home at the 24 hour mark. Does anyone know if I print out the passes at home and forget/lose them can I still print them out at the airport?

I'm sure you could - but if you have bags to check might as well just print them at the airport anyway - it doesn't take any extra time to do this.
