Talk me into a solo trip

Currently here at WDW solo, my first ever time (from England) and I love it!! Can't deny that I was worried before I left, I've never been away alone before and had no idea what to expect and literally just took the plunge and booked 2 weeks. It's been great though, at no point have I felt awkward, or even lonely! I've been so busy doing all the things I enjoy with the rides and character meets, eating the food I want, everything at my own pace.. It's been easy and so much fun! I guess its hard to understand until you go yourself, I read lots of comments from people saying that solo is fun but I did have doubts. But now I completely agree with them! And it's nice now knowing I have the freedom to come any time I want without having to be burdened trying to find a mate who would consider coming (none of them want to and I don't have a boyf either) To be honest I don't know if I would want someone coming with me anymore now, it's just too good solo!

Awesome! My job is actually moving me to England for 3 years! I'm excited but nervous about the driving but, I can't WAIT to go start a new chapter! Solo UK and European trips next!!

There is nothing to be concerned about at all. If I want to go to rope drop, I go. If I want to sleep in, I do. I can take a nap, or people watch, or go from open to close. It's the best. As for eating alone, really...who cares? I know a lot of people worry about it, but it is no big deal at all. If you worry about feeling awkward or bored, bring something to read. I don't think I've felt weird once. People are either not paying attention to you at all, or they're really friendly and nice. Never let anyone else (or lack thereof) keep you from doing what you want to do.

Do it. I've done semi-solo and have really really enjoyed time doing my own thing. If i didn't have somebody to go with or schedules didn't match up, I'd go totally by myself in a moment!

I'm totally going to DW from January 3rd - January 6th, 2017 solo. Excited and nervous at the same time! AHHH!!!

Solo trips are actually a lot of fun! I love being able to do what I want spontaneously, instead of making plans. Plus, I never have to eat things I don't like. As for the worry of eating alone, I solved that by bringing my Kindle with me. While I'm eating, I'm usually watching a short video or reading something, or even checking in with my family. Though I will admit, I barely used it, as I spent most of my time people watching, which could be an Olympic sport. The point is, going solo can be really great if you let it. Just don't let yourself get stressed out.

I'll add one other benefit others haven't mentioned yet-the ability to get last minute dining reservations pretty much anywhere. I love going to the World solo, even without park tickets. Animal Kingdom is my favorite for this- hang out by the fire pit, float in the pool, watch the giraffes from my balcony...

It is a funny thing, that every time I go with someone, (a friend from work or an old college buddy) I end up going on a solo trip a couple of months later to "finish" the former trip! Don't get me wrong, I do have a lot of fun with the person I went with, but I feel like I did not accomplish my wish list for that trip so I have to go back.
My point being, if you love Disney, just go....I guarantee you will have a good time. Talk to cast members, chat with people on line for a ride, or on the bus.
Have as many Mickey bars as you want. Go to quick service instead of the more formal restaurants. I went alone on an ABD to Italy last year and met the most wonderful people (some of which I still Facebook with) so I am going on a transatlantic cruise on the Magic next year solo and am looking forward to it.
Life is too short to stay home when you could be riding Tower of Terror 5 times or chilling with the Frozen sisters!
My next trip is in December for a quick Christmas/Birthday trip OH BOY!!:jumping3:

I am looking to go on a Disney World trip this November to treat myself for finishing my degree. I thought some friends and/or family could go with me but that fell through. I am concerned with going solo. I can't pinpoint why, other than maybe eating alone. Talk me into the benefits of going by myself to DW.

I'm a Nanny and though I didn't GO solo last year - the days I had off last year and was able to roam the park by myself were the best. I got to adhere to my own time schedule and not have to worry about going on rides I wasn't interested in or waiting in line for Characters that I didn't want to meet. It was amazing! Plus it's easier to eek into gaps at parades and fireworks when you are by yourself...
