I have no qualms about questions but OP sometimes makes it tough to understand what she's talking about. It's not being rude to point that out.

Due to the disabilities of the OP(who is very open about it), things aren't as easy for her to articulate as they are for most of us. Perhaps it would be good for some to take that into consideration when deciding if they want to participate in her threads and if so, how they respond.

I'm sure that's possible but I have ridden in the rain, or just after rain, twice. I found the total opposite. The animals were all hiding. We saw zero animals on 1 of those, unless you count birds

I honestly don't think there are any "rules" regarding the Safari and animals actions. It's really just to random to have any rules of when it's best or worse. And if you hear the keepers explain how they place food out, and when, you'll realize they do that to encourage movement too. The'll put the food out and use the individual species calls to let the animals be aware, in case they didn't already see the trucks. If you've ever been on the Safari and saw one of the trucks out, you'll already see that a lot of the animals know what those trucks mean and start moving towards them without the calls

I stay at AKL so I never go on the Safari. If I want to see the animals I'll just go to Sanaa, the lobby, or my balcony.

OP, if a reservation at Sanaa isn't possible I would try to at least stop by AKL. You can get a good view of a lot of animals just by watching in the lobby or going outside. So if you have a "break" in your day you could do that during your down time, and then have more time at Animal Kingdom for other things.

We love the food there and go there to eat but we've yet to see a single animal while eating because we've never been even close to a window. Aren't there more tables away from windows than there are by them?

Yeah that's true but if you get there near opening (either lunch or dinner) and request a seat near the window it usually works. I've been three times and all three I've had great views of the animals.

Sanaa is a restaurant at Kidani Village, the DVC area of Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is one of the single best restaurants on property. Indian and African food, and incredible bread service... all superb. There are huge windows that look out to AKL's savannah, so you can watch the animals. But even if there were no animals to watch it would still be a must-do.

I don't think people were being rude to Tink. The title is really exaggerated- more appropriate might be plain one about best time to see animals. Prior to this thread on Resort forum someone brought up her titles. That one was titled Game Changer and had to do with if there were electric outlets in hotels for a blender. Nobody is being mean to Tink just trying to help her clarify posts.

Enjoy your trip Tink. I arrive tomorrow and we are doing Safari on Thursday. I can let you know how active animals are.

There are definitely more tables away from the windows. I agree, even without a window table, it's still a great place to eat.

OP, if you are trying to maximize your time in AK, I would not recommend leaving to eat Sanaa on this trip. Yes, AKL is beautiful and Sanaa is great, but leaving the park to eat and then coming back will take a lot of time. If seeing ROL is a priority, I think your idea of getting a Tusker House ROL package is a good one. You will see plenty of animals in AK. There is no need to travel to AKL to see animals.

Definitely don't leave AK to go to Sanaa. But like I said... if you have a break during the day take some time to spend in AKL. It's not cutting into your AK time, it's something extra.

I like to go on the safari at sunset because it is not as hot out. We have gone several different times of day and have always seen animals.
I think they may be a little more active when the temps are cooler, but you will see animals no matter what time of day.

Agree, the animals will do what they want to do. In my case, I've been on the Safari attraction when it was raining heavily, and in that case there were a lot of animals out. One explanation might be that it had been incredibly hot in the earlier part of the day and the temperature dropped by nearly 10 degrees which motivated them to be a bit more active.

We spent a lot of time at AK this June. Some days we did 3-4 Safaris at all different times. Each time we did Pandora at RD we were still able to walk on Safari with little to no wait at all.

One of our favorite times this last trip was when we did the Safari about 1 hour prior to sunset. It was great. The animals were on the move all over the park. It was perfect!

I once rode the Safari, got off and right back in line. The rides were very different experiences. I believe there is no "good" or "bad" time of day as far as seeing animals on the Safari. There are "good" and "bad" trips, but I believe they are random, depending on what the animals decided to do. I would, however, recommend that if you ride the Safari and you are not satisfied with the amount of animals you saw, ride it again, either immediately or later in the day. No guarantees, but you may be pleased with the difference.

Lol, we were on the second safari of the day (9amish) on a trip earlier this year and it was total crickets in terms of animals! I've been enough to see/know how variable the animal experience can be - sometimes it's just not your day on the safari. But this was comically low in terms of animal viewing. I felt so bad for the CM... she was trying her hardest to make it a good trip but kept striking out at every turn. We all shared a good laugh.

As with all things Disney, YMMV is very much in effect!

I am totally losing my mind and I can't imagine how you guys feel, I am not sure if RD is worth it I won't see fop que then anyway so at my 6 month mark I well grab tusker rol dining package and do the safari after breakfast and do fop at closing when seeing fop que is a 100 possibility
