My dh and I are just sitting here dreaming about our upcoming trip (we leave in 16 days). We were talking about the wonderful "pixie dust" moments we've had at Disney.

Help us get even more excited and share your stories.

Our best one is when we were dining at Beaches & Cream the day before we left for our Disney cruise. My dd10 loves looking for hidden Mickey's. We were seated at the counter and were able to keep up quite a converstation with the cm's because it was mid-day on a Wednesday in January and the place was practically empty.

After a cm found out about her passion for hidden Mickey's, she challenged dd10 to find them all around the restaurant, which she did without any problem. So, to make it more difficult, the cm challenged her to find the hidden Mickey on the Beach Club re-fillable mug. She even "sweetened" the pot by telling her she could have the mug if she found it.

Well, the whole family would up in on this action and it was really hard to find. After awhile though, dd10 found it! She was so excited. Well, the great cm decided to not only let her keep the mug, but to give her sister (dd14) one also and filled them up before we left with their delicious cherry coke!

We are now looking forward to bringing back our mugs year after year after year to have them re-filled - HA HA HA, I couldn't resist - JUST KIDDING EVERYONE!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Another of our great pixie dust moments was when we checked into WL for the first time and magically were upgraded from a standard view room to a courtyard view room, facing the pool and lake! That was awesome! :thumbsup2

Yet another was being the flag family at WL. We have the pictures of the flags we put up hanging on our wall in this very room - in fact, we have an entire Disney wall of pictures that help us relive all of our "pixie dust" moments from WDW!

I can't wait to hear your stories!

Our last trip was filled with pixie dust. Our plane arrived 30 minutes early :cool1: There was no line for Magic Express :cool1: ; We were teh first stop on a near empty Magic Express bus :cool1: There was no line for Check-in at the Pop ;) :sunny: I was ASKED which building/Level I wished to be in; :cool1: our room was very close tot he Food Court, playground and buses; and as we were walking to our room a family which was leaving stopped to offer us a large bottle of apple juice which they didn't use-it was still sealed (I normally wouldn't have accepted food from a stanger, but didn't want ot appear rude-Caught dh drinking it juice that night :rotfl: )

I don't know if this qualifies as a pixie dust moment, but our favorite WDW moment was our last trip in Feb. 05, which was the first trip with Dad's guide dog along. We really wanted to get a picture of Newley with Pluto, so I asked a CM at MK and found out where to find Pluto next. The characters were about to come out from near the castle, and I went up and told another CM "handler" who was waiting where the characters would be. He smiled and told us to "wait over there by that tree."

Okay, this tree was about 50 feet away and just kinf of by itself, and we felt pretty silly standing all the way over there seemingly in exile. LOL Then here came the characters, Pluto among them. The CM whispered something to him, then guided him our direction. When Pluto got semi-close, he actually got down on all fours and crawled the rest of the way, so as not to scare Newley. He must have stayed there and interacted with Newley and us for a good 10-15 minutes, and it was just so sweet. Newley did seem a bit wary about that huge orange dog, though... lol... but we can't wait for them to meet again! :)

((Notice Newley sporting his lime green DIS ribbon on his harness! :teeth: ))

my pixie dust moment(not sure if it counts) is when we stayed at Animal kingdom lodge, and had booked a smoking poolside room.Well, they didnt give us a smoking room, and they upgraded us to a savanah view!! It made my first disney trip so mutch cooler :goodvibes :sunny:

Thanks! I hesitated to post it, because it's not really a true pixie dust type of thing -- like an awesome savannah room upgrade!! -- but it was such a testament to the type of people Disney finds to be CM's. Pluto could have lumbered over, patted Newley on the head, and went back to what he was doing, but he went above and beyond. We ended up with quite the crowd around us, and there were a few tears. It was just a really sweet moment, and we'll never forget it. :)

Your post is the definition of pixie dust!!! :sunny:

On our trip in July, DH and I waited in a really long line to see Cinderella and Snow White at Toontown in MK. We'd been to dinner the evening before with princesses at Akershus, where we'd seen Belle, Jasmine, Aurora, Alice, and Ariel, so these two princesses were really important to us, and especially to DD who LOVES Snow White and dressed like her for Halloween last year.

Right when we got up to the front of the line, the people in front of me told us they'd just replaced Snow White with Belle! I was so disappointed because we would not have waited in such a line to see Belle yet again, but DD just kept saying, "It's okay."

When we got to the room where the princesses are, we did meet Cinderella, Belle and Aurora. I told the CM in the room that we were really disappointed because we'd wanted to meet Snow White and had waited in line just because she was there, too.

This sweet CM said, "Wait a minute; I'll see what I can do." And then after we'd met the princesses there, she gave us a special pass where we went around the back of the tent area, waited a few minutes, and were brought into a room where there was Snow White waiting for us! She was very, very sweet with my little girl and even gave her a souvenir kiss on the cheek and spent extra time talking to her. Plus, we got to see Minnie, Pluto, and Daisy also.

Great stories, lovve them.

Here is my first, an old one.......

And to answer questions, I never did finish beyond this TR. We did go, and further, at checkin at the Poly, a further upgrade to concierge lagoon. You do need to read the above for that to make sense, and if enough time, the few prior ones linked there.

We just returned from two weeks at WDW. Some pixie dust moments:

1. At the fastpass machine at Space Mountain, our tickets weren't working (demagnetized). The CM not only gave us fastpasses for SM, he also gave us 4 unlimited fastpasses to use anywhere in the park for the rest of the day!

2. At the turnstyle to Animal Kingdom, DS's ticket was again demagnetized (this happened to us probably 8 times during the 2 weeks--very frustrating!). The CM told us to get a new ticket at Guest Services and then come back to her directly--not to wait in the very long line.

3. The various CMs who helped with our kids' VMK quests. Most CMs had a lot fun--while they couldn't/wouldn't outright tell us the answer (for which I was glad--what fun would that be?) they would give lots of hints and tips and all said to come back to them after the ride if we still were having trouble.

4. The CM at the watch store on Main Street in MK, who when I showed him that the back of DH's guest of honor badge (bought last year) had snapped off, he immediately made DH a new one--free of charge. (I was hoping to just buy a replacement part for it.)

I could probably come up with more if I thought awhile. The trip was full of pixie dust moments... :sunny:

Gina,
What a beautiful story--thank you for sharing your pixie dust moment.
I'm still teary-eyed!

My best pixie dust moment (and there have been a few) was with our then six year old granddaughter. And her mother. We were all walking out of Epcot after Illuminations and my son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter wanted to get more pressed pennies. My husband went with his parents and brother back to the resort to pack up since we all were leaving the next morning. I stayed behind with The Kids. We were strolling by Chefs de France and my daughter-in-law wondered out loud if maybe she could go in and get a picture of a true French chef since her cousin's husband was a chef. She thought it would be cute. My son (gotta love him) said "this is Disney, anything is possible, take Marlie and no one will resist her". They went off and my son and I waited. For quite a long time. Not only did my daughter-in-law get her picture of a chef, she got to talk to the chef and my granddaughter "served" people their water. This was well after 10:00 at night and Epcot was officially closed. It didn't matter. That little girl bounded out of Chefs de France with a chef's hat on and later she demonstrated just how she served everyone. I never pass Chefs de France without thinking about that sprinkling of pixie dust.

I love the Pluto pictures!

We've had lots of little pixiedust moments. I think my favorite was when my DD got to met the princess' at Toon Town on her first trip. We were the last in line for our group. There was only Cinderella & Sleeping Beauty in the room (her 2 favorites!). When it got to be her turn, we were the only ones left in the room. They spent probably 5 minutes with her, one on each side. She was in heaven! :cloud9: I have the best pictures of her, Cindy & SB looking like a group of teenagers having a gabfest! Sbella

I am so loving these stories...

And to think that people wonder why we go back to Disney places again and again??? :p

When we were there last Sept, it was my DGD 1st trip and her birthday trip turining 4. She loves Mulan and we went into the area at Epcot China Pavilion. We noticed by the main building that the dragon Mushu? was there. I took her up for her autograph and took her picture. We then asked the CM if Mulan would be there today. She said yes Mulan will be here in about 10 minutes. So my DGD and I sat on the bench and waited for her. No one else stayed to wait. We had a great time watching the children and even the adults with Mushu. So after a little while the handler went inside. In just a moment Mulan came out and told Mushu to come inside. She then came over to my DGD and took her by the hand to the inside of the building and said that she had been told that she had waited very patiently for her and was so excited to meet her. Well DGD face broke into a million smiles and hugs were freely given. We spent about 5 minutes with Mulan and then other people were allowed to come into the room. this was so special. When we turned to leave I told DGD to say by to Mulan and Mushu, they both came over and hugged her again and wished her a magical day at Epcot. Well it had already been the magical day. :sunny:

About 7 years ago when FastPass was still pretty new, my family and I were all looking at a park map wondering where to go next. A CM comes up to us and asks if he could help us find anything (nice of him to approach us, instead of us having to approach him)... Then he starts small talking and asks what rides we have been on and how our day has been. So we mention a few rides....

So then he pulls out a stack of FastPasses and says "Tell you what. You haven't ridden Pirates of the Caribbean yet, right? Well, here are passes for all of you. How about Peter Pan? I have passes for that also. And I know you already rode Space Mountain, but here's some passes to ride again!" He gave us passes for a ride or two more -- he gave all 5 of us passes for 4 or 5 rides. It was a busy day at the park, so this saved us a ton of time and really made our day.

Another time my family and I were standing outside of Spaceship Earth near the queue, when a CM comes up to us, asks how are day was, and asked if we would like to ride Spaceship Earth without any wait. Of course we said sure, so she took us into an employee entrance and we got on right away.

Both times the initiative the CM's showed us was very impressive.
