Tales Of Pixie Dust!! A NYE Week TR! UPD- 1/20-Winter Pics!! Non- TR!

I'm determined to finish this trip report tonight because I leave for Disney again TOMORROW!!!
Keep in mind that Amy and Mitch were in the original room and Emily and I switched to a new room at 12:30 at night because DQ had taken over our room. New room at 12:30 and a breakfast ADR at 8:00. This is going to go well, isn't it?
I woke up in time with help from the alarm. Emily was pissed that I was waking her up this early. I told her I had a surprise but we had to go to the room before I told her. Quick story: When we switched rooms in the middle of the night Emily decided that it was necessary to bring her hair straightner and make up bag with her. She wanted to straighten her hair and apply make up to go in an elevator. I managed to explain to her that that wasn't necessary. LOL
Back to the report. The girls had wanted to eat at Chef Mickey's for a while. I was never been able to get an ADR. So, I felt like I won the lottery when I snagged an ADR the day before. The girls were super excited and even donned themselves in their cute matching Disney jackets. With the inspiration of Chef Mickey's, Emily decided that just gel in her hair would cut it for the day.
We left our room at 7:40 for the busses. We got to the MK at 8 and checked in at Chef Mickey's at 8:20. We weren't seated until almost 9, but that was fine for us.
Good morning, my pretty.

This picture is from November 2009, I think.
When we sat down Goofy was just a few table away so we decided to see him first before going to get firsts of many plates. Goofy came and left and then came Pluto. Then the girls were nervous to go get food because Minnie Mouse was in view. It was so nice to see my 15 year old and 12 year old's eyes pop out of their heads when they saw the characters. It brought tears in my eyes.
Finally, after being at our table for 20 minutes, the critters left us alone for enough time to go get food. Food was decent. Not extravagent, just edible. We came for the characters, though, not the food.
Mickey and Donald came. Appearently, Donald was a little chilly so we decided to dress himself in my jacket. LOL! I just love that duck.
Minnie and Pluto came again and then I just had to see Donald. Our waitress hadn't been by once since we were seated and we were ready to leave. Finally, I sent Mitch to go retrieve her. She told him she'd be right there but didn't show for 15 minutes. It was almost 11:30 by the time we paid and got out. We had a great time and enjoyed breakfast. I got several cute pictures that I plan on framing but I can't share them until I pick up my camera charger IN PERSON tomorrow at the Dolphin.
Next in our battle plan was to go to the Magic Kingdom. We waited in a long line to go exchange our vouchers for tickets and when it our turn the CM informed us that the park was about to close to capacity. Even if I could get in the park, I don't want to be in a park that is so crowded that it's closed to capacity. So no Magic Kingdom. Plan B. Visit the Wilderness Lodge and then Ft. Wilderness.
It was a bit chilly so we took the bus instead of the boat. We all enjoyed the resorts. Both were decorated beautifully for Christmas. It was almost 2:00 at this point and DQ had found us. She took over Amy and Mitch's bodies. They were both in need of a nap. Mitch then had a meltdown because our car wasn't where we were because he listened to me and we took the bus so now he needed to take a MILLION busses. I told him he could just take a bus to DHS and walk or take the boat back to the room. He was not happy. Did I mention that it was nap time?
Amy and Mitch left but Emily and I still had some fun to be had. We got on a bus.
Where does this bus bring us and what happens with our room?

BLOOD??!! YUCK!!! What wass going on in there?? YIKES!!!

Glad they made it right for you!

And all the other magical, wonderful amazing pixie dust you got that night! What a great time with magicians, Illuminations, and a CM who apparently has super-memory abilities!! WOW!

If you think the bus brought us here, then you are correct.

Your prize, you ask?
How about a shopping trip through Downtown Disney.

We also made a stop in Basin where we spent 20 minutes searching for the perfect soap for all the bathrooms at home.

I forgot to mention: While in WOD, Emily was looking at the stuffed animals. On every trip to WDW she buys a stuffed animal. She comes up to me and shares her plans to bring home Lotso. Not that rebel air freshner in my house. I advised her to choose a different person. She chose a Yeti and has been sleeping with it every night.
We were getting a little hungry so we bought a bag of chocolate covered pretzels in WOD and sat outside on the bench to enjoy it. It was a gorgeous day. I was sitting on a bench in my favorite place. Eating my favorite food in my favorite shape. With one of my favorite people. I was happy. I plan on doing this on Saturday.
We managed to leave DTD without buying too, too much. We bought 3 soaps, mickey sprinkles, a t-shirt, a tinkerbelle minnie mouse doll for Amy, a Yeti, magnets, pens, and postcards.
When we got back on the bus I checked my phone and noticed it had been on silent all of this time. Oops. I had 3 voicemails from Mitch. We hadn't unpacked and we were going to switch to the second room. He found a voicemail on the room phone and it was the manager. He apolagized again about the drama from the night before and told us that there was a cancelation. He said since we're gold members we would get a suite for free! Awesome!! The bellhop came delivered us and our bags to the new room.
Coming up: Dinner at Boma, the new room, and another new room.

Too funny about Emily bringing along her straightner and makeup! That is so Chelsea. :rotfl:

What a fun time at Chef Mickey's but yikes to the MK being about to close to capacity! I don't blame you for heading to Wilderness Lodge instead.

Great pictures from Downtown Disney and score on the upgrade to a suite! :thumbsup2

Have a fun time at Disney again!

You are in Disney right now - yet still writing a TR. Life isn't fair! ;) I hope you are having a magcial time!

A suite! :woohoo: I look forward to seeing those pics!

We're home from another great trip! We spent 2 nights in Disney at Port Orleans Riverside (loved it!) and 4 night in NY for a wedding and to visit family. I spent the last 4 hours working on report cards. They're due Monday. This is my 1st time doing report cards for 2 schools. (I work half time as an art teacher at 2 different elementary schools making it a full job and a half.) Tomorrow I'm at the further school. Luckily, it's an Early Release day but my schedule is crazy on ER days. I have 10 classes in 4 hours with almost no time in between classes!:scared1: I'm sure I'll fall asleep as soon as I get home tomorrow.
While in NY, Amy saw snow for her first time and couldn't get enough of it! We took Emily to visit my mom in New Jersey before Amy was born. I don't think they realized how could it can get! One day we went skiing, and Emily's just standing there shaking. Couldn't decide if it was from the thought of skiing or the cold.:rotfl:
I'll treasure my palm trees as I sit by the pool with 70 degree weather.:lovestruc
Of course, the Disney portion went by way too fast. I had to work a full day the day we left and so we didn't get there until almost 7:30. We did a quick check-in and then went to the Dolphin to pick up my neglected camera charger. We saw Illuminations.
Next day included a jog around POR, a boat ride to DTD for some shopping, a trip to All Star Movies, where the girls LOVED taking pictures with everything, a bike ride around the resort, and finally 'Ohana where we met up with friends. That was super fun. Afterwards, we all went to the Poly beach for fireworks.
The next day we had to go to the airport to catch our flight to Buffalo. It felt weird being in MCO. We lived in Orlando for 12 years and so we always flew out of that airport. I haven't been in there since. It was a lot like Deja-vu. If I had my choice, we would never fly out of Ft. Lauderdale International again. We would spend a night, or few:rolleyes1 in WDW and then fly out of MCO. That isn't going to happen though.
Does this work for a trip report of this trip?:flower3::idea:

Just kidding! I'll do a report. :rotfl: I only 342 pictures from our 2 nights.
As I turn on the T.V now, I won't be able to go to channel 9 and expect to see Stacy.:guilty::sad1: I'll be watching American Idol, though. It'll be weird with out Simon. I'll probably stop watching after the auditions because it won't be fun after that. No Jersey Shore for me! YUCK! That show is disgusting. I'm sorry, but it IS possible to walk out your door with out a tan in a can, a bonnet, and your chest sticking out. The Bachelor though, that is GOOD T.V. I was shocked they brought Brad back but I do believe that he is a new man. Ashley S. and Emily are my favorites. I think they would be great for him.
Enough with my T.V rant.

I don't know how I didn't catch it. It takes her forever to get ready in the morning. I finally got smart and made the rule that she has to choose her outfit for the next day the night before and she isn't aloud to change it! This helps when we need to rush out the door.
We enjoyed our breakfast. I have an App on my phone and it said during the day that IASW had an hour wait.:scared1:

You are in Disney right now - yet still writing a TR. Life isn't fair! ;) I hope you are having a magcial time!

:rotfl: Hey, you have a LONG trip planned. It does take me a while to write my reports, if that makes you feel any better. :lmao: We had a great trip!
My dates for New Jersey are most likely June 23rd to the 2nd. I'd love to come to the city one of those days for a meet at maybe the Disney Store. We'll talk as it gets closer.
Hope you are having fun at Disney.
We're home now but we had a great trip!:goodvibes

Welcome home! Glad the girls liked seeing snow up in New York, but I would gladly trade you our cold temperatures for those palm trees and 70 degree weather.

Nice try on your "trip report." :lmao: I want to see the pictures so don't think you are getting out of that. ;)

Good luck today -- sounds like you have a lot to get through!

Looking forward to seeing all the pictures and hearing about the fun. So glad to hear you loved POR, since that's still one I have to stay at. I love walking around there for pictures, but still need to actually stay there for a night or two.

I'm glad Amy was able to play in the snow. She could make a snowman in my yard today, and I'm like you, I'd happily sit under a palm tree with 70 degree weather. Today's high will be 27.

Yay for 'Ohana with friends. I know that was fun.

I do not know a thing about any of these TV shows. I don't like anything that is a singing, dancing, cooking, find a boyfriend/girlfriend, or decorating competition. I see the commercials, and it just seems like a ton of drama to me. They have quite the following, though, because I see comments on FB so often. I guess I'm stuck in the past, 'cause if my TV is on, it'll be on an old sitcom or movie, or it will be on HGTV or possibly Paula Deen cooking up some good fattening food. I have thought of offering up my classroom for a true reality show, though. ;) It's good for some laughs and some drama on a daily basis, and there would be no need to pay any writers.

Right now I am watching the morning news, which is showing cars crawling down I65 south to downtown. I am very content to be in a warm house, which is where the Highway Patrol is asking people to stay if they do not have to be out.

My vote is for you to always travel out of MCO with a few days at WDW! :woohoo: When we get off the plane and see the tile mosaics in the floor at MCO, we know the fun is about to begin! :cool1:

Glad to hear you guys had a nice trip, again! ;)
sounds like fun meeting friends for dinner and wishes; happy to hear the girls were able to enjoy a snowy winter for a few days.
Hope your day is not too stressful, try and have a great one!
:wave2:

10 classes in 4 hours??!!:scared1: That is crazy!!

So glad you had a fun time at POR, and that you made it back safely! I can't believe that one of your daughters saw snow for the VERY first time, and she's a teenager!! Amazing! We see very little of it here in Oregon, and actually got VERY little in Kazakhstan where we lived. So my kids have never seen more that a few inches at a time unless we go up to the mountains.

Looking forward to your TR :)

Winter Pictures!
Click here to see my winter pictures! Hope you don't mind me just posting the link. You don't need to a Facebook to view the pictures! It's just so much quicker for me to share them this way rather than uploading them one by one on Photobucket. And, this way I can get a trip report update done quicker.

I'm happy that I was able to escape the cold after a few days.
I can try, can't I? LOL! I will do a full report as soon as the NYE is done.
Thanks! :goodvibes

This was my 1st time staying at POR and I loved it. Now I just have to stay at CBR and I'll be done with the moderates. We were originally booked at Wilderness Lodge but I changed to a moderate after the NYE trip.
I don't think she'd have a problem making you a family of snowmen.:cutie: When the kids were playing in the snow, their cousins looked at them like they were from another planet when they admitted they've never built a snowman.:lmao:
I loved meeting Orlando friends for dinner! It was SO much fun! More fun than I had in a long time. I was able to talk to my friend with out getting interrupted because DH is best friends with her DH and the girls were talking to her boys.
Most shows are drama. I love watching HGTV! I watch a few cooking shows but never on TLC just the food network. The TLC shows have way too much drama. It amazes me how long they drag making a cake and how much drama they put into it on Cake Boss.
I watch the Bachelor and love it! I also like to watch Hell's Kitchen and Dancing With The Stars. American Idol is o.k. DH and Emily have been watching Big Brother since E was very little; they never miss an episode and like to find out what happens online before the show airs. I watch Full House whenever I catch it. I don't watch too many sitcoms. I guess they're too predictable for me. I never really have time to watch T.V during the week, though.
My class could make a good reality show, too. Sometimes I feel like I'm on one of those shows where they set people up and punk them.:rotfl:
I love MCO! It probably won't happen a lot. It just worked nicely this time because flights were much cheaper than Ft. Lauderdale.
i can't think of a better way to say "good morning!" :thumbsup2

ps: LOVE the pic of the girls with jerry garcia!!
Thanks!
Are you a Jerry Garcia fan? DH is the biggest Grateful Dead fan.
Glad to hear you guys had a nice trip, again! ;)
sounds like fun meeting friends for dinner and wishes; happy to hear the girls were able to enjoy a snowy winter for a few days.
Hope your day is not too stressful, try and have a great one!
:wave2:
We had a fun time! Meeting friends that night was the highlight of the Disney part of the trip hands down. When the girls get a little older DH is going to start taking them on his business trips as long as they are off from school.
I got a lot done today! More than I had planned. Monday is a no students day so I'll be able to get the rest done then but I'll have to go to both schools.
10 classes in 4 hours??!!:scared1: That is crazy!!

Looking forward to your TR :)
It is crazy! I felt like by the time I got everyone situated it was time to clean up! The kids that had to finish their projects had just enough time to finish and it was "free day" for everyone else. They could do jewelry, quick scratch art, pearler beads, etc. I just took out whatever fun junk I could find and put it on the table. Of course, the teachers always drop their kids off early and pick them up late.
There wasn't much snow where we were. The girls were happy with that though. The most snow was at the place we went skiing. I had to explain to Amy that she could not just stop and build a snowman anywhere on the ski path.:scared1::lmao:

Sounds like 2 wonderful days experiencing the Disney magic! I look forward to all the details.

I like your idea of flying out of MCO instead...there are always deals to be had at WDW.... ::yes::

Upstate has gotten quite a bit of snow, more than us I think. It was a chilly 13 degrees here today - so you left just in time for it to get colder.

My dates for New Jersey are most likely June 23rd to the 2nd. I'd love to come to the city one of those days for a meet at maybe the Disney Store. We'll talk as it gets closer.

Sounds great!! I'd LOVE to meet up at the Disney Store!

I want someone to wake me up in the middle of the night and tell me were are leaving for WDW that day. It will never happen, but it would be fun!! Sounds like you have a fun husband!!
