Granddaughter #3: Addison, 4 months
I've loved Disney since I passed up a cruise with friends for my high school graduation to go to the Magic Kingdom with my parents. That was back in 1976 and even though I've not been nearly as many times as some of you, my husband and I went as newlyweds and then took our children 3 times over a period of years. Now we're empty nesters and loving Disney for just the two of us.
This trip came about as a result of my oldest granddaughter asking her mom, "Mommy, is Jesus going to come back before we get to go to Disney?" She had already expressed disappointment that Mamaw and Granman had been and she hadn't, so we decided that this year's Christmas present for everyone would be a weekend trip to the World. Money and time dictate that it won't be a full week, but it will be fun nonetheless.
Departure day is less than 2 weeks away now and I'm heavily into the last minute details....which is driving my husband nuts as usual. I'm spending lots of time on the boards here...which may well save us $200 or more with the news of the special tickets for active and retired military....and working on which park to hit first and how to get all the attractions in.
I'm not really sure who is more excited at this point....the adults or the children! I think I'm almost as excited about seeing my granddaughters' reactions as I am about being back in Disney. I may cry!
