Taking the A1A all the way to VB

Just curious...

Has anyone driven the route on the A1A between Port Canaveral and Vero to get to VB?

We have driven the route along I-95 a few times now, and I am wondering if it will be worth the extra drive time to try something different...

We have taken it out of VB on our way home and then we pick up 95 somewhere.

It's a very beautiful drive. Not the fastest but beautiful.

We did that drive going up to Melbourne to visit cousins. It is a little longer than I-95 but is very scenic. If you have the time I would go for it.

We should have enough time to do it on the way there after leaving from BWV...

With DS3 and DD(8 mos), I think going down the A1A will also work to our advantage, in the event we have to make any unscheduled stops..

It's been a few years since I headed north up A1A but as I recall, between Vero and just outside Melbourne, there wouldn't be much of a place to "stop for a break". All beach shacks or undeveloped areas (I guess you could use those). I'm also not sure how easy it was to get back over to Rte. 1 from there.

US1 might be better for stops for the little ones

We drove A1A at night and it was a nice relatively fast drive out of Vero

We took I-95 to Vero. My kids were being miserable. I was being a tired and cranky mom after a week at the parks. Kids were fighting over possession of a silly Magic Kingdom brochure. I took the brochure and opened my window threatening to toss the brochure out if they couldn't share. Dumb move! The directions to Vero (we had never been there before) were on the dash and flew right out the window! Put me in my place! (luckily we found it ok after all)!

Anyone have exact directions? I can only find the standard I-95 directions from the airport on mapquest.
We will have extra time so would like to try the A1A route.

I drove it from PC to Vero on night. We ate at coco beach and stoped at Ron Jon's. THe ride was dark and we were the only ones on the road. We took US 1 up there, so coming back we were not sure if we were going the right way. Just when you think that you are lost, the resort shows up. We were glad to see it.

We really enjoy the Melbourne to Vero stretch. The Cocoa Beach to Melbourne stretch has too many stop lights and is to slow.
