What is the best time of day to take pictures? I thought it was morning and took some digitial pics but everything looks overly bright and washed out.

I like taking them at dawn and on sunny afternoons.

Good question. I never thought about it. I just take them when it is convenient for me to do so.

DAWN?!?!?! I think the only time I've been awake at dawn was in Hawaii which was 2 hours behind! :p

I took some more this evening and will try for the front garden tomorrow morning...a little after dawn. :teeth:

I can take a dozen pics, and MAYBE, one turns out! I find it works best for me on a slightly overcast day. I think that's just because I haven't pacticed and figured it all out yet. :)

Flowers are such a challenge to take pics of. That's why I love it:)
After a roll I'll get maybe 2 or 3 keepers.
Overcast days are the best for me.
Bright light washes pics out and makes them appear flat.
Shade's good with a fill flash.
Shooting into the sun I use a fill flash or the spot meter on the camera.
Before 11:00am and after 3:00's the best but doesn't stop me from trying at any hour except....... dawn!?
My camera would work but I don't think I could get my eyes to focus
:p

The best time is when ever I am in the garden and things "look nice". :)

Typically I am doing it early to mid morning... or late in the afternoon. I have taken some very nice ones quite late in the evening... when the sun was almost into a twilight time.
