I use the WDW Merchandise Phone number quite a bit, especially when I am just home from a trip. I will remember something I saw but didn't buy and will call and order it. Well it isn't as easy for me to remember all the stuff that WDW sells any more :) and I was wondering if there would be a problem if I used my digital camera to take pictures of stuff I like and hope to buy in the future? Does Disney have a problem with that? I don't want to get in trouble but taking pictures could really help me and it will only take a second to take a picture. Any ideas??

Would you have your camera with you anyway, or would you just be carrying it if the answer to your question is yes? Because if you always have the camera anyway, just ask a CM in the store.

DH loves to take pictures of all the different t-shirts and incorperate them with our home movies of WDW. No one has ever said anything to him. I don't think it is a problem.

I take photos in the stores around WDW all the time - to show people what something looks like or just because. I was clicking pics all over WOD yesterday!

At WDW, I always have my camera so it would be super easy.

So, it sounds like CM's don't really tell you to stop if they see you taking pictures. I just don't want to get in trouble.

I love taking pictures in the stores and do it all the time. One thing I seem to takes tons of pictures of are the displays of Christmas Ornaments. They make really interesting textures. Last time I snapped a picture of a frame I liked a lot but didn't buy. Now when I go to buy it or have someone else buy it I've got a reference for it.

I am glad to hear this. I was thinking I might want to takes pics in the stores of all the displays but didn't knowif it would be okay.

Dec 05 my older daughter was on a Hidden Mickey quest. She went nuts with my camera in Mouse Gears, World of Disney and Once Upon a Toy (and more I;m sure) taking pictures of all the 'not so hidden' Hidden Mickeys on the display racks, floor, walls, ceiling etc. No one said a thing, nor did I notice any odd looks.

Here are two I took yesterday, never noticed the picture before.... When you look at it head on it is Cruella, but when you look at it from the side it is Malificent. There is another in the same room - WOD - Pin, Jewelery Watch room) - that has Capt Hook and Jafar.

I have taken lots of pictures in various stores and have never been told off - I'm sure they don't mind at all!

Here is one of the displays in an MGM store from last week:

I took a picture of DH in a Goofy Pirate Hat with a sword ... at the POC store. Felt a little funny but ... we bought stuff at other places and DH didn't really WANT a Goofy Pirate hat. :guilty: It's just our neighbor wanted to see him mow the grass with it on ... so we did the closest thing and took a picture of it. Anyway, no one said anything. I don't think they would care. After all you might just be e-mailing it to someone asking if they want you to buy it!!!

On our trip I took pictures of the displays in the Polynesian Gift Shop by the Ohana Breakfast and I also took pictures of dd5 hugging the flying burrito in Panchitos at Coronado Springs! I didn't even think twice about it!

Comming from working at the World of Disney last fall on my college program, there is really no offical policy of guests taking photos in the stores (we... that I know of or was told atleast). Just be kind to thoes around you who may not want their photo taken and dont blind the poor CMs with the camera Flashes ;).

In fact, I took many photos for guests in the store while I was working trying on the diffrent hats that we carry.

Never thought about it before, but we do it all the time- ds loves to try on hats and pose for the camera!! We don't need the hats, so we take pics of him wearing them and he is happy enough!

So, take your pics and enjoy!
