Taking owners ressies 2/8/09 for BLT & THV

Just got a call from my grrreat guide. Its official !!

BLT & AKV are ahead of construction schedule and will open 8/4/09.
Owners can begin making ressies on 2/8/09.

Members just got an email from DVC announcing these updates. I am planning on calling 2/8 to make my Thanksgiving ressie, a Sun through Fri in MK view (probably one of the few ressie's I will make with MK view over the upcoming years, the points are too high)

Just got off the phone with MS.
She asked if I knew about the date being moved up, and I said "No"
She asked if I received the email and I said "No, I was just in my email"
So I checked my email again, and no email.
Just as we were talking, POOF, the email comes in!!!!

Disney magic???

I was getting excited about March 1, but now this!!

Hi just got off the phone with MS. They open at 9am Eastern. I asked if I could make a part points/part cash ressie on the 8th and they said no. Cash will start on the 9th for BLT owners. They did say that you can used borrowed BLT points on the 8th.

To avoid the flood of calls on that day, I think they should take ressie base on use year for BLT owners. In use year order .

I wonder if I can use a combo of my developer points and SSR points? The 8th is about 4 days outside of the 7 month window for our September trip.

AKV has already been taking reservations and will open on May 1. THV and BLT reservations begin on February 8 for those who own at those resorts and two weeks later for other owners. THV opens on June 1 and BLT is now scheduled to open on 8/4/09.

New Disney Vacation Club Resort bookings begin Feb. 8

Disney Vacation Club has announced that Member Services soon will begin booking reservations for two new additions to the neighborhood.

Members with ownership interests in Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort may begin making reservations for their new home resort on Feb. 8. On that same date, Members with ownership interests at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort may begin making reservations for the resort's new Treehouse Villas accommodations.

All Disney Vacation Club Members may book reservations for Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort and the Treehouse Villas accommodations at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa beginning on Feb. 22.

Construction of Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort remains ahead of schedule, putting the new Disney Vacation Club Resort on pace for an estimated opening on Aug. 4.

Can someone tell me if I can actually make a reservation to stay at BLT in August? Is that what I am reading? Also if our Use year is Mar can I book my "hopefully August stay with my 2009 points and borrow my 2010 points to get a bigger accomodations? Thanks!

When the 11 month window opened up I made a ressie for a 2 bedroom at SSR, my home resort.

Now that they are taking the THV ressies is there any problem with calling in this Sunday and switching from SSR to THV? (besides the obvious problem of simply getting through) I hope I can do that without a problem.

That's what the announcement suggests since the resort will open on August 4, you should be able to reserve that date or later.

Yes, you will be able to use your 2009 points for an AUgust stay and even borrow from your 2010 Use Year for stays between August 4 and February 28, 2010. You should also be able to make reservations at other resorts for dates within 7 months and after August 4, 2009.

Depending on when your call goes thru and when your reservation falls, the only problem will be availability for THV. You are not really switching from SSR to THV since THV is simply a room category at SSR. You will be cancelling your current SSR reservation and making a reservation in a THV at SSR - sort of like cancelling a reservation in a 1BR and making another for a 2BR.

Doesn't hurt to try... why not... i would prefer the MK view at BLT. But if you don't get that... AKV concierge is just as sweet. so i say, go for it. Just don't pick the same days im looking for.

I'll tryot to ! LOL !! I asked the people I'm going with yesterday where they would like to stay too. gave them all the specifics and said they need to let me know.

I'm also still randomly checking on that $1 room thing too of course.
