Hey all!
I need all the tips and advice i can get. We are taking our baby who will be six months to disney feb 15-20. What rides can he go on with us? Are there mickey ears small enough? Are their cute mickey shirts for him? What about restaurants can we bring the stroller? Can he go swimming? Anything will help

Hi Amy and welcome to the DIS!

One tip I can give you: for the second half of your trip (the 18th-20th) the parks will be VERY crowded. You're spilling into President's Day weekend, which is one of the busiest weeks of the winter season.

I don't know where you are staying, but many WDW resorts have wading pools. And you can hold him on your lap on just about any of the tame rides. And there certainly will be plenty of cute Mickey shirts!

You'll be at WDW, so all restaurants will have high chairs. Just ask for one if they don't ask you if you need one.

Enjoy,

Bob

I've traveled with two different 6 month olds. I'll try to help the best I can. I'll begin with this- they were easier then than they were as toddlers!!!
They can go on any ride that doesn't have a heigth restriction- took ours everything in Fantasyland. And, at this age, they aren't so much afraid of things- like the Snow White ride, huanted mansion, etc. As far as restaurants, nope, no strollers. The only one that allowed us to take our stroller in was The Land- b/c they did not have infant seats. If there are infant seats available, the stroller has to stay outside.
DD got minnie ears when she was that young- didn't buy them for ds b/c he wouldn't keep anything on his head. But yes, they do have them in infant size. Go to Downtown Disney to find infant clothes for him- the World of Disney has a whole baby section. You will probably also be able to find a lot in the parks. You might also try disneyshopping.com- but they are low on clothing right now- I guess they're getting ready to put spring stuff out.
Is your baby on formula? A trick I used- I put powder formula in the bottles for the day and added water throughout the day. Now, you will have a hard time finding warm water. Usually if you ask for warm water they give you scalding hot water from the coffee pot. Just use a little of that and fill the rest with cold and it evens out. They do have warm water at the baby centers, but you might have to walk across the park for that.
Take your own stroller- the ones at Disney are not baby friendly- some are hard plastic and do not recline.
Enjoy it and have fun! Characters LOVE babies! We ate at several character meals and they all made such a fuss over them. And it is great that both of mine slept in their stroller for all naps and at night- something that won't happen later on!!!
HTH!!!

We just went over the Christmas break with a 7 month old. It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. You can definately do everything in Fantasyland and like an earlier poster pointed out, they usually don't get scared at that age. We even did Pirates of the Carribbean and she basically slept through the whole thing. If there is something your little one can't ride, you can always do the child swap so you don't have to miss it. As far as feeding, I sort of did the opposite of Tink2. We put water in bottles and then brought our formula dispensor to make bottles througout the day. The characters definately do make a fuss over the babies. It's quite fun. We have a nice picture of our daughter with a lipstick kiss from Snow White on her forehead. Definately a keeper. Don't worry though. You'll be able to find plenty of baby stuff. My wife had no problem finding plenty of it ($$$).

I took my now 19 month old when he was 6 months old and he did beautifully. The hint I have is to get a baby sling or the Playtex Hip Hammock. I absolutely could not have done it without the Hip Hammock. This allowed my hands to be free while we were on the rides and it saved my back from just carrying him.

I say pack your diapers in a suitcase and then when you leave you have used them up and that leaves you able to take home all those cute kids shirts!!

Don't forget your camera!!

have fun!
