And the trip hasn't even started yet!
Well, after finalizing that Nick was to take Dionne's spot on the trip, we hit a HUGE bump in the road when I called American Airlines to transfer the ticket. Apparently....(unknown to any of us) you can't just change the name, you have to cancel, then rebook, but because the ticket was in Dionne's name, the credit from the cancellation, went to her, and Nick would have to buy his own brand new ticket for 3 times the price.
You're kidding me, right? I had no idea what to do, and was attempting to sort everything out while calling and texting 4 different people to keep them in the loop & double check everything. It looked at this point like the trip was destined to not happen.
However, Nick eventually got the airline to transfer it over for a charge, and him & Dionne split the cost of the flight/cancellation fee so it seemed fair to everyone.
Once this GONG SHOW was all sorted out, everything seemed to be going swimmingly! And for once, it actually has (minus the fact that it looks like everyone's getting sick right before leaving. Vitamins! C'mon!) But now, we are a mere 2.5 days away from arriving in Disney World, and couldn't be more excited.
I've done the online check in, printed off everything for our ADR's, Pre-Ordered Photo pass, and have pretty much finished packing, and done nearly all the last minute shopping. Exhanging money even turned out to benefit me!
So, I now bring this gong show of a pre trip report to a close! Here's to hoping that everything went wrong BEFORE we hit the home of the mouse, and if anything does, we'll just find it hilarious.
