Hi, woohoo in less than a week we'll be at WDW :yay: but we have the flight to survive with DS 18 months yet!

He LOVES milk, and I want to feed him some on takeoff and probably some other during the flight... esp at a time when I think he really does need to sleep.

At home he is on cows milk, but I'm wondering what to do about the flight, with only small amounts of liquid being allowed on board. Can I put some cows milk into small containers to be transfered to a cup for takeoff?

Someone suggested taking powdered formula which the air steward people can make up for us (but I imagine they won't be able to make it up in time for take off). Can I take a part tin? Does it need to be a full sealed tin?

Someone has also suggested I can buy cartons of ready to drink formula in boots at the airport - is this after the carryon luggage check?

Tips and thoughts gratefully received:goodvibes

When my DD was younger the air stewards happily filled her cup up for us a few times during the flight. I'm not sure if they will fill it up for take off though. You might be able to buy a small carton of milk once you get through security and if you can't perhaps one of the restaurants will fill his cup for you. You don't really want to be taking much cows milk on the plane as you won't be able to keep it cold. Certainly once you are in the air they will fill your cup quite happily.
You can buy the small cartons of ready made formula once you go through security but you better try him before hand as he may not like it if he is used to cows milk now.

Natalie - thanks for this! Do they have cows milk on the plane or just those little uht carton things? That would be so much simpler if it's possible!

they had some big 4 pint cartons on the plane so it was fine

I have taken milk through security in DD sippy cups and then had them refilled on board.

Her sippys were over the 100 ml but as they were for a baby I just had to taste them. It was no problem as I had DD in the pushchair and she was 15mths.

You can buy milk in the shops past security. I was in WH Smith at Gatwick on Tuesday past security and they had milk in their chiller cabinets.

I'm sure that a restaurant/coffee bar will give you some too if you ask.

Enjoy your trip!!

Thanks eveyone! This is so helpful, and has put my mind at ease :)
