Taking ME with only part of your party??

We'll be flying in from CA, and had planned on taking ME to and from the airport. I thought it would be especially convenient because we'll have lots of luggage. Then the plan was to rent a car the day after we arrive, and return it the day before we leave.

Well, we will be spending one night at Port Orleans, before checking into the Poly the next morning. So, it will be a pain to take a bus to the MK and then to the Poly, I think. So now I want to rent a car at the airport.

Will it be a problem if dh and the kids ride ME, and I rent a car, and meet them at PO?

Has anyone done this?

I don't see why it would be a problem to do that. As long as you've made the DME reservations for the folks using DME from MCO to your DIsney resort.

You stumped us all.

I would guess that the person whose name is on the resort room should be present at the ME check in desk. Then, chances are the ME folks would not notice anyone was missing.

I am also planning on renting a car at MCO and the rest of my party taking DME. From what have gathered so far is your luggage needs to go with you. So no yellow tags on your luggage. I'm going to carry mine on to avoid the baggage claim.I am going to call and find out for sure because I have another question does my DW have to be present at the time I rent my car from National if I want her to be the additional driver? I think she does. I will call and find out and report back.

Ok I just got off the phone with Disney and they said no problem to renting the car and not being on the bus. They did confirm that I will have to get my own luggage.( I plan to carry on and/or use an extra tag from one of my kids or my wife) Each person gets two yellow tags and they have each persons name on them so you can use one of the persons tags that is going to be on the bus just not the tags that have your name on them.They said the fact that your the lead name on all the tags doesn't matter if you ride the bus. Does that make any sense?
