Hi,

The dlrp website says its an urban myth that you cant take food into the park and thats not what theyre checking for when they look in your bags, but my friend told me that you cant even take in filled baguettes and they will take them off you at bag check!

What is the truth? As we want to take sandwiches or pizza slices etc.

Thanks.

I've never had a problem taking food in. In fact we went straight to the parks from checking into our hotel once and I still had all the breakfast stuff we'd bought for the journey there in my bag and the guard checking was laughing at my full on picnic! :)

No problem at all - we take in drinks, cereal bars, fruit etc. Never been taken off us.

its no problem at all to take food into the parks with you - your bags get a quick check at security as you go in, but they are not remotely concerned about any food you have in there. Just don't take any glass bottles etc.

Until very recentely, it was forbidden to bring food into the parks and picnic areas where available between the parking lot and DV's entrance.

But this rule was so rarely enforced that a few weeks ago it was taken off the "rules of visit"

So you may now bring your food in

There are some limitations though

You are not allowed to bring glass bottles and other items that may be used as projectiles.
Security might also confiscate sharp items like knives

Other than that feel free to enjoy your home made sandwich, as long as you don't litter the parks or use the restaurant tables without being a patron in that restaurant.

never been stopped all the times we have been, and never heard of anyone else being stopped taking food / drinks in either

As others have said, we have never been stopped. I did see one couple having a bottle of wine taken off them once so maybe no alcohol?

We have never had any problems either. We always take in plenty of drinks and snacks.

It's not the alchool I think as I've seen people with beers (brand not sold in the park) but rather the glass bottle ;)

We have never had an issue taking food and drink into the Parks. I've always gone to the supermarket in Val D'Europe to stock up on snacks and soft drinks to save a bit of money!

Thanks everyone, that is reasuring, especially as we booked a hotel with a kitchenette in order to prepare our own food and save money!
