has anyone does this. i think that it might be combustible but not too sure. i used to take wine on the carry on but that's over.

I don't think I would try it. I doubt its combusible, but the baggage handlers are less than gentle. i know the mod resorts sell beer in their little grocery/snack area. I imagine the others do as well. Another option is to have it delivered from one of the local groceries, along with water, milk, bread, or whatever else you need.

We brought back rum from Jamaica, but I don't think I'd do beer.

I would say no. You don't want to take the chance of it breaking (if bottles). Also, it seems like it is really easy to order from Garden Grocer.

I fly to Portland, Or. alot and there is a brewery up there that has a bottled beer that I love. I bring it back on SWA by the case everytime I go.

I spoke with TSA and here is what they told me:
Should be in a sealed and well packaged case and it will count as a piece of luggage.

I have never had any trouble with it - they label it "fragile" and I assume all responsibility for loss or damage.

By it being in its own case I think that maybe the handlers are a little gentler with it than if it is an unknown item in a suitcase.

I have taken a whole case of wine (double boxed) as luggage (no, it was not for drinking all at once at WDW), with no problems.
