Hi all,
My family is taking Amtrak from NY to Orlando this summer. Unfortunately, we have to find our own transportation from the Orlando Amtrak station to the airport where we will pick up the free Disney transportation to our hotel (Contemporary). Does anyone know who would take us from Orlando AmTrak station to the airport?

Also, would you recommend 2 roomettes for our family? We have two sons, ages 5 and 7.

TIA.

2 Suggestions.

1 - Go into Kissimmee instead of Orlando. It's closer to WDW than the Orlando station.

2 - Don't bother trying to go to the airport, it's not going to be much cheaper, if at all, to go to the airport then take the bus to WDW, plus the time you will waste. Just get a limo from the Kissimmee train station to your hotel. It'll cost about $125 round trip or less, it's been a while since I've done it so I'm just estimating up.

Yes I would get two roomettes, if it is in your budget, but you should be able to cope in Coach if the roomettes are too much. Remember on the train you are not confined to your seat like you are on an airplane. You can move from car to car, spend some time in the lounge car, go to meals in the diner car. When you think about the cost of the roomettes, remember that the price of the sleeper includes meals, if you ride Coach you have to pay for your meals.

Enjoy your trip I love train travel. One more note the likelyhood of you arriving on time is mininmal, plan on being at least 1-2 hours late.

May will be my second time doing Amtrak to Orlando from NJ. Book a car service. It's about 110 round trip...plus a tip for the driver. Totally worth it to go direct to your resort.

I went into Orlando last time..and will again this time. For the half hour extra it takes to get to Kissimee...I'm already on my way to the resort! Lots say to consider Kissimee bc boarding in Orlando to come home there are ALOT of people. Luckily, I got on board pretty quick since they boarded anyone north of DC first!

I love my town car service and agree with the above poster get off in Orlando. Yes they have more luggage to take off but it is well organized and you can be almost if not to your resort by the time the train gets to the next stop and unloads their luggage.
I go at least yearly and am in fact going in just 4 days again. I board in Philadelphia so the trip is just a few hours shorter than yours. If you want any town car information just e-mail me and i will give you the name of the company I have used for the past 5 trips and have not had one concern with being met or taken back to the station.

Can you tell me the name of the car service?

I would not recommend the roomettes, unless you have that extra money to spend. Also, dont you have to fly in to get on DME?

Car service is the way to go from Amtrak to WDW, we did this in 2005 and it was worth it, plus they supplied car seats if you need it. There is a car service here on DIS FL Tours, I used ****** Transportation and we had no problem. Train was running late and when I called from the train they were already aware of the delay. Driver was there when train arrived and on time for departure. :thumbsup2
