Hi!

I'll call DVC but I thought I might get advice here as well. We are planning to take Amtrak to DC for our Christmas trip. The plan is to spend a night at Hilton Head (because we've never been) and then drive early the next morning to Savannah's airport, park the car in long term parking, and take a taxi to the Amtrak station. We'll return about ten days later, reversing the process, and spending another night in Hilton Head before heading home. The trip begins the week prior to Christmas. The parking at the airport is not bad at all expense wise. We live on the FL panhandle and the train that works best for us is the Palmetto which originates in Savannah so it made sense to sneak in a little DVC time. We have absolutely no plans to drive to DC for a number of reasons. We take Amtrak on most long distance trips - not really plane people.

That being said, is it even remotely possible to leave the car at Hilton Head (parked at the resort) and somehow make it to the train station? My guess is no and I'm also not sure it would work out as Hilton Head is pretty far from the Amtrak station so that would be an issue.

Still, I wanted to ask.

Thanks.

You can certainly ask at the resort , but parking is very limited at HH. Your parking pass is good only for your stay, so you'd need help from the resort staff to extend parking privilege.

Good luck!

As Doc said, you can ask, but I doubt due to liability and limited parking they will agree. If they did, how do you plan to get to the train station.

Personally for me one night each way would be too much hassle, since you have to drive to Savannah, I would spend the night there and enjoy all it has to offer.
