Taking a two month old

Realize that changing stations for the babies are in BOTH the women's restrooms AND the men's restrooms. *whistles*

Yes, I know this, but I only go in the woman's room since I am a woman. I am sure the changing table in the men's room is gross also.

Sorry - I should have quoted the OP's post. That's what I was referring to. My mistake.

Agreed. Nor did I want my changing pad that matched my diaper bag getting germy. I took a bunch of those disposable pads (my midwife called them chux pads, others call them puppy pads - I ordered them from drugstore.com). I actually do this anywhere in public, and then just throw them away after the diaper change.

OP - I took a diaper per hour that we'd be gone, plus about 3 extra. And kept a stash in the car for emergencies (we drove everywhere). But I believe you can buy them in the baby care center if you get into a bind.

Great idea! I hate using changing tables out, but it's not like I have much of a choice here.

I don't remember quite how many, but no need to drastically overestimate. Go for just a wee bit over what you think based on usage at home. You can buy extras onsite and, while expensive, it's not like you're planning to buy your whole supply that way. A few good options for bringing them if you're flying:
1) pack diapers, wipes, bottles and other consumables in a separate bag that becomes your souvenir purchases bag because it will be empty by the time you're done.
2) ship a box with all your consumables in it to be waiting for you upon arrival so you don't have to fly with it
3) place an order with garden grocer for delivery to your r hotel for baby needs plus bottled water, sodas, breakfast items

On the germ problem - don't worry too much! The big problem comes from us touching everything, which a 10 week old won't do. Just wash YOUR hands a ton. Have fun!!

Thanks! I am going back and forth between having something shipped or just ordering Garden Grocer.

That is wonderful. I wish more restrooms here had changing tables in the men's room. DH changes most of DS's diapers right now. Although I'm sure they're both equally gross!

I took my daughter when she was 3 months. My big tip would be to see if you could find a head support pillow to put in your stroller that keeps the baby safe in the actual stroller, rather than bringing the car seat attached to the stroller. I just didn't like having my infant in a car seat for extended amounts of time. We used the Britax infant support pillow in our Britax stroller and it worked out great.

I think you are taking the right approach--taking things slow! We took such a slow pace on our trip with our 3 month old, but we had the best trip. We will be taking our next daughter at 11 weeks (I want to go for an end-of-maternity-leave trip!) so I've enjoyed reading this thread.

Meet lots of characters and take lots of photos! The pictures were priceless to us. Oh, and take baby on every ride without a height restriction. Even at 3 months my daughter was having a reaction to what she saw. Don't be afraid to try out some shows--baby might do fine or sleep right through it. We always sat on the end seats if we could to have the option of making a quick exit if need be.
