Hello all,
I wanted to share that we are taking a trip to Disney World in October to celebrate the adoption of our two foster boys! My husband and I have only been there 1 time around three years ago, so I'm not very familiar with activities. Can you tell me if there are any special activities we can do? Special character brunches? Please help!

Congratulations!

How old are the boys? Do they have any specific Disney interests or favorite characters?

Will you have ParkHoppers or want to spend extra for the MK Halloween party?

They are 12 and 14. We are only going to be there for a couple of days since the school year will have started. We plan to go into Animal Kingdom and Epcot parks.

Can I ask why not magic kingdom? To me it is classic Disney World and even young teens/preteens can really enjoy and there is just so much more to do in that park. AK is one my my kids favorites but my kids HATE Epcot. Every family is different though. Not sure where you are staying but we always have enjoyed a character breakfast (either Ohana or Chef Mickey) and the Hoop Dee Doo is always a must for our family. Of course there are pool activities and crafts at the resort pools and there are nightly movies and marshmallow roasting if staying onsite. Fort Wilderness has horse back riding (for a fee) and a nightly campfire sing along with a visit from chip and Dale (free). Congratulations on your new family and hope you have a magical trip!!

October has a couple of busy dates … hope you can give us more info so we can make helpful suggestions.

Going in October with no plans on going to MK, I would get tickets for MNSSHP (Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party) for one evening. It takes place in Magic Kingdom, but starts later in the day, so you can spend the morning and afternoon at either Epcot or AK, and then head over the MK for the party later. I suggest doing research research research!!!! There are many websites and YouTube creators out there who's soul purposes in life are to help people with their Disney vacation, so take advantage of it!

Ooh, and :welcome:

First...Congratulations! Thank you for giving these two boys a family and wonderful life. We are heading to WDW next week to celebrate the exact same thing. My DD/SIL are in the process of adopting two boys ages 3 and 6. We got them as foster children at 4 months old and 3. It's a very difficult process and I commend you and admire you for doing this. Unfortunately, our adoption is taking longer than anticipated but we are still going to celebrate.

As far as things to do...I totally recommend MNSSHP. Your boys will love it! There is so much to see and do and rides are pretty much walk on. Enjoy yourselves and the best of luck to you and your new family!
