Taking a sports team to Disney?

Have any coaches out there taken a sports team to WDW? I coach high school softball in NYC and I see WDW has spring training in 2017 and I am interested in possibly bringing my girls there. Anyone have any experience with bringing large groups or sports teams to WDW? Any tips or advice? Thanks!

It's definitely been done before and is very doable. Our dance team traveled to WDW for Nationals this past year and they had a blast, though their trip was set up through the company that put on Nationals. People take large groups all the time and it typically works out well.

We are taking our travel baseball team to wdw this summer to participate in a weeklong tournament. I can't answer all of your questions now but from what I can tell and the people I have talked to, they make great trips and comes at a pretty good value. Google Disney Baseball/Softball for more info. We have been planning our trip for a year and it becomes a reality July 2.

We are heading down next week with our 8u travel baseball team for the sun and surf baseball classic. So far the planning has been pretty smooth. Started planning and fundraising last September.

My varsity girls basketball team has been to the KSA Events basketball Tournament at ESPN Wide World of Sports twice....2009 & 2014. They run outstanding, well organized events. Our 2014 package included a Four Day Hopper Pass, Quick Service Dining and we stayed at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort. In 2009 we were offered the same package and our team stayed at Disney All Star Sports Resort. Our team played three games as part of the package both years.

It seems like most of the responses here are from people that were part of the various competitions held at WDW, which is a very different experience that just going together. If you're looking for just a spring training experience, you'll probably find cheaper options by going elsewhere like Port Saint Lucie or Tampa.
