I am starting the DVC point rental process for my planned trip for April next year. :scared1: I have never rented DVC points before. I need to start early because I want to stay AKV concierge so I can so the Sunrise Safari again. Can you tell I love that tour? Since concierge books so quickly I had to get someone with AKV points to rent to me. And with the cruise I need everything to be in place before I leave. I had put a deposit on the East Bound repo, but I am going to move that, hopefully to a Panama Canal repo for 2011. Yes, I know I am chicken counting on that point. After I get the AKV, I am going to try and get points at BCV for the rest of my trip. Wetting my appetite for buy DVC someday.

Wish me luck

Good luck Kim! And by the way, purchasing DVC is getting sweeter and sweeter. There are some great incentives right now. I believe they are offering a free cruise (up to 7 nights) for people who purchase right now. There is a per point discount as well. The deals may get sweeter if the economy gets any weaker.

Kim,

Good luck! Once you stay DVC it's hard to go back to a hotel room, so start saving your pennies! AKV sounds sooo nice, it's on our list to try.

Good luck and it's great that you can plan your vacations so far in advance.

Come on over to DVC it's much more fun to own than rent. Good luck with your search!

Kim, Good Luck!!!

I'm a DVC owner. I am so glad I did it.

Oh my goodness! Good luck!

You understand how few of those units there are - right? How difficult it is for AKV owners to get one of those reservations?

I'm with those who recommend stepping into the DVC pool. It's the best investment we've made in a long time.

If you do consider it - and this is advice to anyone looking into DVC -

1. Research your investment on the DVC boards here first. Those people are experts.
2. Realize that, even though they call them "guides," they are salespeople and are trying to sell you whatever they have in inventory vs. what may be best for you.
3. BUY WHERE YOU WOULD WANT TO STAY MOST IF NOT ALL OF THE TIME, even if that's not what Disney is offering incentives on right now. It's getting tougher to reserve to other resorts and who knows what may happen in the future.

Sorry. Non-requested DVC lecture over now.:rotfl:

Thanks for the advice/lecture. :lmao: I really need to save up for DVC. I don't want to take a big loan for it. I am working to get rid of what debt I have right now and that is priority, with a little going towards my future dream of DVC.

I understand how limited the rooms are I am asking for and would understand entirely if I was unable to get the reservation I want. If I dont' get AKV concierge I will just try and get a studio at BCV for the entire time. Well I might PAY for a concierge room at AKL, but I will cross that bridge when I get to it.

Good luck! We rented DVC points this past January with great success! With the going rate for rooms, we never dreamed we'd get to stay at the BC, but by renting DVC points we were able to stay in the villas there for $120 per night.

Good luck Kim :goodvibes

We're planning on trying to rent our points next year but we're SSR:sad2:

We're hoping to get 2 studios for BC in Sept but aren't really counting on it, I'm happy to go with the BW villas.

Well I might PAY for a concierge room at AKL, but I will cross that bridge when I get to it.
