Could anyone that has done this offer any advice please?

We will be travelling with my sister and her bf who have a 3 year old. We're thinking that we could do a child swap type thing where one couple watch the kids around the lounger area while the adults go off for an hour etc... I really enjoy Melt Away Bay at BB, I'm assuming it would be fine to sit the baby on you while bobbing about, providing they have a life vest on obviously!

The only other thing that concerns me is the heat, apart from finding some loungers under some shade are there any tips to keep babies cool so they don't get grouchy? Am I overthinking all of this of is it pretty easy and doable?

Thanks for the help! :)

If I were going with a baby I'd buy a water sling and either relax in the pool or lazy river wearing the baby!

We brought both our kids at young ages to Disney but stayed away from the water parks. The lack of ability to put sunscreen on them and the questionable effects of chlorine in infants lead us to believe the risk wasn't worth the reward. Depending on the temperament of the three year old I would think you could possibly watch the kids while one couple went out but if they are active are they going to want to just hang around all day?

Thanks for the replies. I thought sunscreen and chlorine before 6 months was an issue but not after that?

That's my understanding also...if your baby is 6 months or older when you go I don't see an issue other than entertaining a 3yr old and an infant.

The 3 year old is very easy going but I figure one of us can supervise her while she plays in shallow water while the other holds the baby. They may even fall asleep with a bit of luck :)

I also now realize that the topic is a nine month old an infant...just don't take any advice from me!!! I don't know why I thought they were 3 months and 3 yrs.

We brought our twins when they were just about to turn 1. Beyond having to make sure they didn't try to crawl away, it was no issue at all. Shady spots are easy to find, and we kept them in the water a lot. Either in a tube, or let them sit in the very, very shallow parts of the zero entry wave pools (i.e. pretty much sit in our laps). Can't say it's a "fond" memory, because pretty much anything with infant twins is hard work, but all things considered it wasn't bad at all.

Thanks for the info everyone! What about if they need to sleep? You can't really bring their strollers I assume so I guess they can sleep on a lounger in the shade?

Yes, strollers are allowed. We didn't bring ours because, well, it was too big and bulky (we have twins). But you can bring one in. Or you can use a lounger in the shade if you want, whatever works.

We took our son to Typhoon Lagoon when he was 9 months old. I spent most of the afternoon floating around the lazy river with him. The rest of the time we sat and splashed in the little kiddie area.
