Hey everyone,

I just was wondering if anyone knew if there were any restrictions to taking babies on some rides at WDW. I am going to WDW in September and my daughter will be 6 months old and we wanted to take her on things like POTC, Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, The Seas with Nemo and Friends and others like that. I see lots of info on height restrictions for the bigger rides, but I can't find anything on the subject of babies on rides.

Any help would be appreciated!

Baby is fine on all the rides you mentionned. Unless there is a height restriction, you are fine to bring baby along although some things may be loud.

The first time we went our youngest was 5mo. old. We took her on most rides without height restrictions like: small world, TTT, living with the land kilamanjaro safari, etc. We usually wore a front carrier with her in it on the rides so we didn't need to worry about her squirming out of our arms during a ride. It worked out well for us.

We went last September with our 3 month old and he rode them all.....Buzz, Pirates, Winnie the Pooh and he even rode the safari at Animal kingdom! I wouldn't recommend that one though...it was VERY bumpy and I was so stressed by the time we got off it!!! Have fun, that age is the best!!

from the expirances of my 8 month old nephew

winnie the pooh- LOVED IT, alittle jumpy at one point but he was ok
pirates- cried, it was too dark and the beginning scared him
small world- laughed, like looking at all the kids
haunted mansion- no clue why we took him on this, cried a lot
dumbo- alittle bit nervous at first but then liked it
buzz lightyear- didnt get into it, but he did smile throughout
jungle cruise- thought it was more fun standing on the seats, parents were afraid of him falling overboard

he didnt go on any other rides at the other parks

Thanks everyone for the info! I can't wait to take her on some of those rides and see her reaction! I have Disney Princesses painted on her nursery walls, so she has been staring at them in preparation for the real thing all these months!

We have a snuggly carrier we are going to bring along, so we'll use that on the rides so she doesn't try to squirm too much.

Thanks again!

That's a great idea! I didn't think about our son's carrier. We are taking him to Disney next month...plan to ride whatever he can so the carrier would really reassure me. He is getting into that wiggly stage! :goodvibes

We took DS as an infant on all those rides with no issues. It's really only the rides with height restrictions that are of a concern. Don't forget all the shoes too (Lion King, Nemo etc)

Thanks for asking what I was thinking!! My DD will be 7 months when we go and I was wondering the same thing. This takes care of one question, now I have to figure out her food as she will be starting solids shortly. Oh and then there are diapers to pack etc.

My 4 month old just started jar food a few weeks back so I am having wegoshop.com deliver around 20 jars along with diapers and wipes. I hate the thought of taking all that in my checked luggage!

Yup, your little one can go on any and all rides without height restrictions. Our ds was 7 months on our last trip and he loved all the rides!! I think the blue train one (can't think of the name right now)...you know the one above buzz lightyear...was his favorite. He LOVED whipping around the corners in that one. Lauged histerically around every corner!!!

I'm relieved to see this post! We're taking our 21 month old next month and I was afraid there wouldn't be anything for her to do.

Actually, your baby will be able to ride on most everything. Except for the obvious, of course, like rollercoasters and such. We've taken our four year old daughter since she was 2 months old. And our second daughter was 6 months on her first trip. They can ride most things.

We took our 7month old in Feb. of this year. You can follow the link in my signature and read the trip report if you are interested. I hope you get chance to read it. Laura

I'd be a little more worried about noise. When my Jaxson was 6 months he wasn't bring on loud sudden noises.

You can go on most rides with an infant

I suggest a GOOD quality baby carrier(I do not recommend Snugglis or Bjorns) like an Ergo or Beco. These are incredibly comfortable and put no strain on your back or shoulders. I wore my 15 month old and DH wore our 3 year old on our last trip

Here is me with baby still in carrier on Magic Carpets

Well, traveling with an infant is not the same trip as before kids or later when they're older, but it is totally fun, totally doable! Make use of the Baby Care Centers at each Park, take turns riding the bigger rides and enjoy viewing WDW through the eyes of your child. There's nothing like it!

Just wanted to say that you should check out my trip report (in my signature) as we were at Disney for 9 days with a 6 month old & it was AWESOME!!!

Lots of pics & tips.
