Take your kids to see Hoodwinked!

I guess its in the theatres now? preview didn't look to bad.

my kids have been asking to see this one. Maybe on Monday since there is no school

What do you think made it PG? Was there anything that you would not let a 7 and 10 y.o. see?
They have seen Shreck -would you compare it to that?
Thanks!

My son has been making me nuts about wanting to see this one. I'm glad to see that somebody enjoyed it because the review I saw this morning was pretty brutal. The previews on TV look pretty funny. He wants to go tomorrow.

me and my son 10 years old, went and seen this today...NOT GOOD!!

Maybe a couple of funny parts but all in all should have been something on Nickelodean or something.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it. There were a couple of birthday parties and the kids were all laughing. There were a few things thrown in for adults, like"What? Timmy's in the well?" The kids might not have gotten.
We didn't find any objectionalbe language or themes. I wondered why it wasn't G rated.

It's the "violence". There isn't even any really gross parts like in Shrek.

My 5yo and 3yo loved it. It was very funny.

ETA: I've seen worse violence on Bugs Bunny--and I think the raters are too busy comparing it to Shrek to give it a fair chance. While Shrek was really good, I don't think it fair to be using that movie as the litmus test for whether other animated films are good or bad.

Our local reviewer actually gave it 3 stars which is a miracle with this guy. He did say that the animation was sophmoric at best but the story was well done and redeemed the out of date animation.

We just came back from seeing it with DS 6. We all liked it and the movie was packed.

DD7 and I went this afternoon- we both liked it! I will agree that the animation was not the best, but the story and humor were realy good.

DD's favorite part- the squirrel on caffeine. Said it reminded her of Daddy :rotfl:

My favorite part- the mountain goat who sings all the time and has different horns for every occasion. "I was prepared!" :rotfl2:

I took DDs 4 and 7 to see it last night.

It really dragged in places. I was definitely bored. But everytime I thought I was going to nod off, something funny happened and would keep me on it for another 5 minutes.

Wait for the video. And then rent it...don't buy.

My 13yo and I went to see it yesterday. I have to say I was in hysterics! VERY well written, the idea of having 4 different versions of a fairy tale was unique! I sooo enjoyed the Grandma and the squirrel!

Me and another parent could NOT stop laughing. There are more innuendos than right out funny stuff, a lot like Shrek. Some of the best jokes are little ones.

I went because it was my son's birthday treat and it was a fight between this and Queen Latifah's movie. Since I had seen so many previews of her movie I felt I had already seen it. This one was a hoot!

This was my fav part as well...but what does that say about a movie when the best part last no more than a few seconds.

We took the kids to see it last weekend. DH and I laughed as much as (if not more than) the kids.

This morning, DS left some garbage on the floor. I told him to pick it up, then I said, "Were you raised by wolves or something?" DH and I both started laughing, remember when the Big Bad Wolf sarcastically excused his own behavior ("I was raised by wolves"). :rotfl:

I thought it was pretty cute and I liked the music, too. The way they presented the story from the different angles was clever.
