My apologies if this has been asked before, but I wonder if anyone has taken the public bus from the Orlando airport to WDW?

I found information about this here: http://www.mousesavers.com/groundtrans.html and also here: http://www.golynx.com

It seems if you don't mind lugging your luggage the one-way fare per person is a whopping $1.10. I suppose it varies, but the schedules I see today show a route 51 bus leaving mco about every 1/2 hour, so depending on the wait at the downtown bus station, it may be 1 1/2 to 2 hours to get to WDW's TTC. That doesn't compare very favorably with a towncar limosine, but it may be in the neighborhood versus a Mears shuttle (if you had to wait an hour at the airport). Of course, the price is the key.

Anyone have opinions/comments? I hope this is the right board; I thought of posting this on the Transportation board, but think it's more of a budget-type question. Thank you.

Thanks for the information. I didn't even realize that there was public bus service for $1.10 and, even though we always have a car -- our own or a rental, I would definitely keep that in the back of my mind.

I used the bus to get back to the airport to pick up a rent car. It does take about 1 1/2 hours and would be longer on weekends since the bus doesn't run as often. It also doesn't run early in the morning or late at night. For us it just wouldn't be practical but when I was riding there were also a couple of guys that were at WDW for a few days and had minimal luggage. I think for a short trip and without kids it would be a cheap and doable alternative.

I may use the bus this year to go to the outlets to shop. A day pass is $3 .

Unless I can get a great deal on priceline I think we'll just use a town car for airport transportation and I'll plan a day to go shopping via the bus.

We used the Lynx system and it worked great for us.

I'm planning on using the Lynx bus to go to Seaworld, it's sounds pretty easy and the price is definitely right!! Has anyone used it for SW?

My hubby is flying in a few days after we are and since we are already doing a town car for us, we hated the idea of Mears or a taxi just for him. This is a definate alterative for him. He'll have a small suitcase and no kids. Shouldn't be too tough! Thanks for the info. And will do a search on Lynx. What is it??

The price was right, the bus was on time and clean. I was with three early teens who are from a teeny town so adding a city bus to their list of new experiences was a plus too. Just remember to check the bus schedule for return times. The busses stop running before SeaWorld closes. It's easy to find the bus stop from the T&T, just ask the people in the transportation info kiosk. And you can look up bus schedules from the Lynx site before you go. If you're not a regular rider just remember to find the stop on the other side of the street when you return. It's a simple walk to and from SeaWorld across the main parking lot. The stop is sort of between SeaWorld and the Renaissance hotel if I remember correctly. I'd ride Lynx again in a minute. It was great.
