This will be our fourth trip to disney and we are thinking about renting a stroller instead of buying one. We always take or double stroller and have been fine with it but my concern is it will be my girls Mimi and myself this year and my husband will not be there to get it off and on the bus. Tell me your thoughts about renting one vs bringing one along. Pros/cons. I am also concerned about the walk from the gate to the bus with two very sleepy four year olds.
Thanks!

Thanks!

I bought a stroller for my upcoming trip in October. My son is 3 and I was concerned about the walk to the bus AND around the resort. Disney's resorts are huge. I know I'm tired after a day at the park so I figured my son would be too and I know I dont want to have to carry him.

It comes in handy for DTD too.

That was just my decision. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is carrying it on the bus. However mine folds up nicely and doesn't take up much room. It's very lightweight too.

Good luck in making your choice.

We bought a new lightweight one for my 3 yr old grand daughter. Cost about the same as a rental and my daughter will have it to use at home for the next child.

I'll share what we did in May, because it worked out perfectly. Instead of renting strollers (soooo expensive!) or taking a very cumbersome double, we (my husband and I) took 2 strollers, one for each of our boys (ages 2 and 5 at the time). I was VERY glad to have a stroller for both, even the 5 year old, and he rode most of the time. Even without much walking around he was still exhausted by the end of the day, so that was a good call. I liked having two separate strollers mainly for the ease of getting them on and off of the tram, monorail, train ride, etc. Plus they're just easier to deal with in general, I think. One of our strollers is of the larger type, the kind you buy with a carseat/carrier. It was nice to have the basket underneath because we brought in our own water bottles and snacks, extra change of clothes. The other stroller was a more compact umbrella stroller, but BOTH had the shade thing on top. Another thing I was very happy to have since the central Florida sun is very intense.

You could also buy two lightweight double umbrella strollers which fold up easily and are easily carried and then buy the cheap attachment at BabiesRus that allows you to turn them into a double stroller...( which was a godsend with my twins when I had to have two umbrella strollers and there was only one of me! ) The plastic attachments are small enough that they will fit in a backpack or purse as well as just attached and left on one of the pipes of the stroller itself.

I found the rental prices too high for our 14 night trip last year so I bought a stroller for my 4.5 yr old niece.

I bought it online and had it shipped to the resort. It cost me a tiny bit more than the rental would have and I have it to use again this year.

I bought a Perego P3 from www.albeebaby.com It folds like an umbrella stroller but is bigger and has more features like a reclining seat, parent cup holder, tray for child, huge sun canopy, basket, extendable handles.
