These events shouldn't be overshadowed by celebrity nonsense. Today is the anniversary of the start of the Korean War in 1950 (approx. 37,000 US deaths, many, many more from other countries) and of the 1996 Hezbollah terrorist bombing of the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia (In all, 19 U.S. servicemen and one Saudi were killed and 372 of many nationalities were wounded.)

If you are so inclined, please take a few moments to remember those military service men and women that gave their lives for our country.

Thank you for that.

And thank you to all our service men and women, past and present.

Amen. I couldn't agree more.

Get over these ridiculous celebrity obsessions and memoralize those that actually deserve our praise.

True American heros.

My fil was in the Korean War. He's still with us, god bless him. For those that gave all :grouphug:

Great post. Thank you for the reminder.

Korean vets get little recognition so thank you for the reminder.

Here's what tears at my heart on an ongoing basis:

That is a lot of families and loved ones that are suffering from their loved ones being killed in a country that some can not even find on a map. I deeply respect our military and their families for their sacrifice and service.

My dad was a Korean War vet. He's gone now, but I'm sure he would be deeply touched that so many are remembering the sacrifice that our veterans made.
