Take resort bus or drive car for rope drop?

We’re going to WDW next week and will have a car. During these times, what is the best way to be towards the front of the rope drop crowd? I’m mainly concerned for our HS day. Do the resort buses get people there before car drivers? It looks like they don’t open the parking lots until 20-30 minutes before official park opening, which I assume puts you towards the back of the crowd. Anyone have any experience or opinion about this? Thank you!

From what I’ve heard driving a car is the way to go. Some friends of mine were there last week and they said they got to park right up front and it was super quick and easy

On July 19th I took the bus from Fort Wilderness to HS and made it through security and into the park about 20 minutes before opening. I would say if you can make it on the first or second bus from your resort in the morning you will probably be fine getting to HS early.

Can I ask how crowded did you find the buses? Were you able to do social distancing?
