Take-out containers?

Do any/all of the counter service restaurants have take-out style containers that can easily travel back to a resort?

(The counter service options at the Polynesian are so limited. We like to be very responsive to our children's needs while on vacation -- and so several times we found that we needed to leave the parks prior to getting dinner -- but we found ourselves wishing we could grab some counter service "to go" rather than eating at Captain Cook's again...)

Here is a recent thread discussing this.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2850711

On other threads its been discussed that most park CS's do not have the right containers for take out.

The best some could do is another plate for on top or some foil.

You would be better just getting CS to go at your resort which most say is possible.

Thanks so much for the link! Missed that thread!

Yes, CS at the resort is always a good option...at least for the first time or two...but CS at the Polynesian is very, very limited...and reservations to Kona and O'hana are (almost) never available last minute...so we often found ourselves "stranded" at the resort and wishing we didn't have to eat from the same short Captain Cook's menu again...

For anyone reading this thread...link to the other one. Hopefully it will generate a list of CS options in each park where the food comes already packaged in a way that lends itself to being easily carried back to the resort. If you know of one, please jump over there to add it to our list!!! :goodvibes

Just take some zipper bags with you. If the counter service place can't provide, put the food into a zipper bag. We do this very often.

We were able to order carryout from the Kona Cafe menu this past July. You can place a carryout order by Kona Sushi Island. It was nice to have other options.

It seems that all resort CS have the proper carry out containers. The OP was looking for park CS that have carryout, which seems to be very few.

I just wanted to give the OP another option for carryout at the Poly since she mentioned Captain Cook.

Hmmm. How about having some chinese takeout boxes in your backpack?

I saw some at the Container store a few weeks ago that were flat and could pop up. I wonder if other stores would have them or something similiar.

Then you could get your CS meal, box it up yourself, and take it back to your resort for a quick heat up in the food court microwave.
