I am so excited!!! We will be in WDW this Saturday and want to arrive in time to see the Magic Kingdom Welcome and be in line for the rope drop. We will be staying at CBR. Should we just drive or take the bus? If we drive, I figured we would leave the hotel around 8:15 a.m. to get there by 8:35 a.m. What time should we go out to catch the bus from our resort?

Thanks for the help!
Cherie

Take the bus! Take the bus! Take the bus!
No, I don't know what time but - even if your calculations are right, what do you mean by "there"?
You drive from CBR to MK.
Go through the Entrance Plaza, stop briefly to get map & schedule.
Follow CM directions.
Park.
Walk to center of lot.
Board tram.
Ride tram to TTC.
Proceed to monorail or ferry.
Ride monorail or ferry to MK entrance.
OR
Board bus.
Ride bus to MK.
Get off bus.
Walk @ 200 yards to MK entrance.

If you drive you must park in the Transporation and Ticket Center and then take the monorail or ferry to MK. The bus from CBR to MK drops you right near the entrance. If you drive, you will have to leave CBR well before 8am to ensure getting to the MK entrance in time for a good view of the Welcome.

I recommend taking the bus and being at the CBR bus stop by 8am.

MK is the only park I take the bus to. It's just much more convenient.

Disney has made it so lenghty and convuluted to get to the Magic Kingdom from an automobile that it is really a no brainer. And it's just as bad trying to get back from a day at the park.

Take the bus.

Enjoy.

I don't think you will find a single person on this board that recomends driving to MK. The other parks, that is a different story!

Have a wonderful trip!

Definitely take the bus!!!!

While we were at CBR last week, the MK busses ran very regularly as early as 7am for a 9am opening. That being said, I would try to be at your bus stop between 7:45am and 8:00am just in case a bus happens to come right before you get to the bus stop.

Percentage-wise, we saw more MK busses at CBR than any other park. It seemed very well covered.

We drive everywhere except to MK. Bussing it is quicker and easier. But sometimes we even drive to MK - I just hate busses and kind of enjoy riding the monorail. :)
