Tahiti Village Resort ?

Hi,
We are looking for a family friendly resort in Vegas to chill for 2 nights of our upcoming "go west" vacation. We are going to Zion, Bryce, Disney Land, Sequoia , Kings Canyon , Yosemite and Death Valley. We are flying in/out of Vegas and need 2 nights total to stay as we travel around to the other places.
We are looking for off the strip probably, and a family friendly resort type of place. Good pool area, and close to the airport/car rental center, and some restaurants. Also it has to be safe.........not some run down roach motel, or any motel for that matter. Looking for resort hotels.
I found Tahiti Village resort, and it looks perfect for us. Nice 2 bedroom accommodations available plus it has everything we are looking for. Kind of reminds me of the Polynesian in WDW.

Does anyone have any input on this place. Good / Bad ???

Go for it!! We stayed there as a family in 2012, and it was perfect. No casino on-site, which suited us fine since we don't gamble. Beautiful pool, close to shopping, airport and the Strip. Enjoy!

Thanks ! It very reassuring to hear something positive about it. Looks perfect for us, but that what was making me a bit nervous. Most of the reviews I have read have been great.
I think we will give it a go !!!

It's technically a timeshare. It works like a hotel where they book stays that the timeshare owners have the management company book on their behalf, or possibly unsold timeshare slots.

I've passed by there before. Seems nice enough.

A few years ago they were doing radio ads with Tanya Roberts. They offered a free stay and show tickets. It was pitched on the radio as an introduction, but I'm sure that a timeshare presentation was involved and probably disclosed over the phone.

Some of the reviews of the place claim that guests were offered show tickets for free/cheap in exchange for agreeing to take a "hotel tour" that turned into a timeshare pitch. So watch for that.

We stay at the Desert Rose which is like a time share. It has 1 and 2 bedrooms. Free breakfast everyday. Pool and Jacuzzi. Gym, BBq, full kitchen and there is a laundry room. It is very quiet and gated. And 2 miles from the airport. It is right behind Hooters and the Tropicana.

I don't think it's anything to worry about. Most of what I've heard is that the staff typically treat it like a hotel stay. I don't know if front desk staff are trained to spot "marks" or if they have people off to the side. I would note that in or nearly almost every major hotel (and some other places) on The Strip you'll find it's swarming with timeshare pitches. We got suckered into one. It took about four hours that we won't get back, and we still had to pay $100 for our show tickets (would have been maybe $250 otherwise). They say 90 minutes, but we had to show up for a bus at Excalubur and then waited 30 to leave because they wouldn't send of an otherwise empty bus.

I've stayed at a timeshare once, but booked as a single night like any other hotel stay. I had no idea it was a timeshare until we got there. A well maintained timeshare can be really nice at a good price. I wouldn't buy one though.

Interesting, their website it has parking but does not indicate if they charge or not. I would call and ask them.
