Evening, all. Not lurking, just catching up! Haven't been on in a few days. Busy with company and all...getting ready for the beach, DH's promotion was today (had to put together a reception with 1.5 days notice!), etc. Been kinda CRAZY around here.....so dropped in for a little vacation!

I saw some meanness a few pages back and wish to remind everyone that this is a fun, vacation thread! Keep your meanness to yourselves!!

Now, everyone who posted pics...Deadheadbelle, [COLOR=FF66CC]llebrekniT[/COLOR], & Lewski709, oh and Bichon Barb, too! ABSOLUTELU ADORABLE!!!! And LOVE the one of Ella and the fries!!

Cheeringmom Glad the house is coming along!! I know it always takes us awhile to settle in. We've been here almost 2 years and are still doing things....and we leave in 12 months or less BTW, which commissary do you use? We were exactly 1/2 way between Ft. Belvoir and Quantico, so I went to whichever one was agains the traffic!! Both were pretty good, although now that I have the kids, I don't ever get to do the commissary Too long time-wise, plus for us it's 26 miles each way!

Lewski709 WOOO HOOO on the interview!! Keep us posted!! Is it in Florida?? If you got offered that one and the from home one you mentioned, which would you prefer??? Could "home" be in Florida or would they want you to stay there?

Well, that's about all the vacation I have time for tonight More cooking for the beach trip tomorrow....we leave Sunday for a week with 18 family members in one house The kids are SO excited to be seeing their cousins and we're all eager to get on the beach, in the pool, and relax Will try to catch up again tomorrow or Saturday!

Yep, just catching up on the posts. Went to Daniel's game tonight. They won 2-1. They play again on Saturday at 2pm, but I'll be at work. bummer.

OMG, are you serious?!?!?!?! Lainie is so much smaller...or at l east it looks that way!!!!

Lainie reminds me of Sariah, a little 3 year old girl Heather and I sometimes babysit!!!

I actually might have gone to high school next year, since I won one of the 5 scholarships this year, but i decided against it because I need another year of sports!!!

TalkisCheap I did that...went to HS a year early on scholarship. May I say, I think you made a good decision to wait until the right time. My b-day was also in Feb, but since I went early, I was 13. Had a hard time at first.....people in my grade were fine with it, both those I came in with from my elementary school and those from the one across town (2 Catholic elementary schools fed into one high school) but the others just didn't know what to do with a 13-year-old. I got treated differently....everyone assumed I would be a "baby" and didn't give me a chance. Many regretted later that they were so closed off at first....after they finally got to know me.....but it was really hard for someone shy like I was to take it all in. The switch to high school, while fun, was also a bit scary, and would have been no matter what. Being different (younger than everyone else), and not in a good way, certainly didn't make it any easier!! If you have the opportunity to wait, I'd certainly do it! Everything did work out fine for me in the end, but I often wonder if it would have been better had I waited...

Just my 2 cents....
