To be "Fore-Person" you volunteer and ask if they are OK with it. Most people don't care, I just liked the idea. Some people are afraid that they will come after the head of the jury, I say let'em...I live in Texas and am ready for such minor skirmishes.

One of the sad things that they teach you in fire-arms Safety training class is a quote from POTC..."Dead Men Tell No Tales". If you shoot, mean it. If you wound them they can lie and sue you...

I have a Concealed Weapons Permit, and I don't always pack heat. DW worked in her Grandfathers shop where they sold guns...she doesn't like them but realizes that they are a fact of life when you are on Alarm response...The training is a real eye-opener. There are lot real screwy rules. If I come in the house and someone has raped my wife, but is leaving I cannot shoot them; they are not about to commit a felony, it has already taken place. You need to make sure that they were stealing something.

Another weird thing is that at night if someone is trespassing in my yard, I can shoot them (IE TPing my house...) That one could have Civil liability.

Hey all! Just got back from lunch with DH and Marshall's Superstore! :bounce: I found an end table! :Pinkbounc But no coffee table. :( But I don't care 'cause I love the end table so much I bought it anyway! :bounce: So maybe later I'll try the Marshall's in the western suburbs and see if they have the matching coffee table. :Pinkbounc

Also, I just checked flight tracker, and Oma and Opa are 33,000 feet up somewhere over southern PA. :bounce: Their flight is schedule to arrive at 3:03. I'm just waiting for the bus, then the boys and I will go pick them up. Gotta love those flight trackers. :Pinkbounc I miss those old farts. They've been gone for a month.

I'm feeling very bouncing today! :bounce: I don't understand it. I'm wearing all my undergarments.

:teeth:

Hey Barb, just sent you a PM.

I was voted mad'am foreperson by the other jurers. I could have refused. I would have refused for the murder case.

Hey all! Back from DL! Can't really stick around, have to go back to work. ICK!

The trip was good, barely any waits for all the good rides, didn't bother a whole lot with the rest, The Disneyland Hotel was very cool and we had 2 really good and pricey meals (Catals's and Naples, both in DTD). Some of the park restaurants were closed and that made it hard to get PS for anything. This was my 3rd or 4th time going, so I already knew all the rides and have been on them many times, but I still love Soarin, Screamin, HM and POTC! :)

The trip down wasn't bad, made it in like 3 hours, but the trip back last night was long (5 hours).

We had a good time, and my hunny got to have his birthday in Disney!

Oh, and the QOD: Never done jury duty...I've been in the military for my whole adult life, and we can't really do it, unless the commander approves, so even if you are selected, they usually cancel you out.

TTFN!

I made an ABC album for my nephew last year. He'd just turned two. Here's a link if you'd like to see it. Sean's ABC Book I actually put it together in five days. I wanted to give it to him when I went out to visit but didn't think about starting it until right before my trip.

And yes, there is a convention in Orlando this fall - Memories Expo, October 7-9.

Thanks! Very cool! If I ever have finish an album and figure out how to post it, I'll have to remember to figure out how to get the pages to cycle through like that....was that ohana 's doing?

You are up on these things! So are you getting to go to the Orlando one before you hit Disney?

QOTD: Yes, I'm very jealous of llebrekniT right now!!

Jury duty? Never been called. Possibly because we've so rarely lived where we're registered....we're FL residents (LOVE those discounts) but live in VA right now, so we're automatically exempt.

No clue what the housekeeper's name is!!

And wanted to send all those misdirected congratulations to my DS over to disneyluvers's DS! You must be so proud of your little guy!! Good for him :) I played violin for 5 years in middle/high school, but was never very good and would have positively FREAKED had I had to do an entire section by myself....no other players for "cover"! YIKES!! So he's not only good, but brave, too!!

She said the weather is beautiful, but the lines are really long. Ariel was a 1 hour & 10 minute wait. They have just been picking a couple of rides they want to ride & then doing a lot of people watching. They are having a great time, but she hopes the crowds will be less in October.
Are they taking advantage of the FastPasses? I could have sworn we got FastPass for Ariel before and didn't have to wait around for it that long, even with all the long lines.

Did they go by Radio Disney this afternoon to meet B.B. Good? When she finishes her time on the air she goes out and meets anyone that comes by. I think the meet-and-greet is at 4:30 (WDW time) M-F and she always has little prizes/trinkets to hand out to the kids. ohanafamily and I always try to stop by and see B.B. She's a real hoot.

Hi everyone, I'm just popping in quickly to say good evening to everyone. I had a busy day at work but am on 2 weeks holiday now. At the moment we have friends over for dinner and then I have to get our bag packed for our trip to London tomorrow. I will catch up on all the posts later.
Have a great evening everyone. :wave2:

Nope, I did that myself. I used the same s/w I use to make animated smilies and other animated stuff.

No, I'll be skipping the Memories Expo in Orlando next fall, for several reasons. 1) We have plenty of scrapping conventions in the area. 2) We already have our plane tickets and it's rediculous what they charge to change them. 3) We don't rent a car when we go to Orlando/WDW. But I am going to GASC this June when it's in Arlington. That's only about 30-40 minutes from home. I've already signed up for a few classes and a couple of crops (with other DISers.)

Hew Lewski, I'm hooooooooome. It's 5:00 P.M. eastern. I was going to call you back, but I don't want to get you in trouble at work.

Hey, that reminds me, don't forget to change your clocks tomorrow night before bed.

Bichon Barb I won't get in trouble for phone calls. That's part of the job, unless there is some new rule on that too. No, can't be. I have to have phone calls. That's a major part of my job and I don't get too many personal ones. :Pinkbounc

I don't have to change my clocks, EVER. Nah nah nah!:teeth:

Our clocks went forward last weekend and I almost forgot!! I must remember that Paris is an hour in front of us as well when we get there.

I've got my overnight bag packed for tomorrow and my map of London so we can see where to go! I have to go to the dentist tomorrow at 9am and DH has an appointment at 10am. Whilst he is in with the dentist I will walk up to the post office to post my swap package. Then it's home for a bite to eat and off to the train station for the 1pm train which will get us to London by 2pm.

I will post before we leave tomorrow to confirm that the swap package has been posted (just in case I have extra forms to fill in again, though I doubt it as there is no food in there.)

They had already seen the Ariel show earlier in the week, so they didn't go again. They used fastpass for RnR & Star Tours. I don't think they did the Radio Disney thing. They were going back to the room for Ella's nap, then on to MK for the night.
