October is in the off season, right?
Unfortunately, I think October is regular season :( It's so popular with MNSSHP and the F&W Festival that they can get regular season rates....

Are Lewski and I still the only "singles" going? Come on people! Dump those families and join us. :hyper:
Believe me, I'm trying!! We were hoping for a family trip in October, but it looks like DH will be out (at sea) for 3 or 4 weeks in October, so no go. If we can't do it then, I'm hoping for early November.... but dumping the family and having a singles trip sounds really good all of a sudden! (Wonder if it has anything to do with DS being a grumpy-pants today? Hmmmm....:scratchin )

QOTD: What tv show is your guilty pleasure?

I'm watching Spongebob on Nicktoons right now

I wish I could join you all for the trip, but there is no way it is possible!! Never mind, you will have to take lots of photos.

I forgot to answer the QOTD earlier: I have never bought anything from e-bay, my DH has though (computer bits I think) and he has sold a computer on e-bay as well.

Well its getting late here so time for bed soon I think.

kadaten, I feel your pain. DH and I got into it today. Mind if I vent? As I think I mentioned before, he got an e-mail from one of his three sisters last week asking us to come over for Easter, and he responded yes without even talking to me first. I'm usually easy going about these things, but not this time. I don't want to go because:

1. We haven't missed a major holiday with his family in years. And this includes Memorial weekend (family camping trips), 4th of July (his birthday is the 3rd and we always go to his moms for a picnic that weekend) and Labor Day (another family camping weekend).

2. If we go to her house, that means my parents are alone for the holiday (one of my brothers lives in Norfolk, my sister lives in Atlanta, and my other brother passed away a few years ago). There is no other family.

3. They live two hours away.

Now DH is feeling bad, because they came to our house for Thanksgiving and he feels that we should reciprocate. When I invite people, I always make sure to let them know that they do not have to feel obligated to come, but if they are available, we'd love to have them. We didn't guilt his SIL to come here, and I don't want to be guilted to go there either.

Basically, DH's three older sisters still treat him like the baby brother.

Bichon Barb, I feel your pain! Vent away! Unfortunately, the yucky in-laws in our family are MY parents, or well, my mom anyway. We get the guilt thing all the time..... If you go on time spent with her vs. DH's parents, I guess it's justified but when you consider we can spend more than 3 days together without fighting, it's free to visit them and to see my mom we have to pony up $$ for a hotel, DH's mom doesn't work so she's always available, DH's parents come to see us more than my mom does, etc..... well, it's obvious why we spend more time with them. She's mellowing....but it sure has taken awhile.

My DH always says he wished he could have my in-laws...get it? ;)

I fianally just found a way to tell myself I wasn't going to be ruled by guilt any more and would do what's best for my family. Doesn't mean she doesn't try, though....but I was tired of feeling bad about that on top of all the regular things we feel bad about....

Well, your MIL sounds wonderful! Just the person to help your DH out with the kids so that you can go to WDW with us in October! :Pinkbounc ;)

My mom is really easy going about these things too. Actually, they don't even know about this whole Easter "situation". If she did she'd tell me to go to SIL's and not to fight about it.

But heck no. It's a matter of principle.

The llebrekniT family has arrived in Orlando!!! They are pulling out of the airport as I type. Ella had a rough flight from BHM to MCO. Her ear started bugging her & she was really tired on top of that. llebrekniT did say there was a little girl a bit older than Ella who had stronger lungs, so Ella wasn't the loudest crying baby on board.

If Ella falls asleep on the way to the resort, they are going to drive around for awhile & let her sleep.

QOTD - Hmmm, there are quite a few, I'm sad to say. I think the most guilty pleasure was when I watched all the episodes of that reality show where they get all the B list stars and put them in a house together. Oh -- The Surreal Life! LOL. Whodathunkit! Tammy Faye Baker is a pretty neat lady! And Traci Bingham is about the most shallowist person I've ever seen.

Last time we went to Disney, we made a wrong turn and ended up in Celebration. Talk about surreal! That's a fun place to drive around.

QOTD:

Have you ever stayed at or drove around Celebration? What did you think? I think totally Stepford Wives.

No Guilty TV Pleasures for me; I have enough guilt than to worry about what TV shows I watch (I do like Celebrity Mole though...)

As far as Celebration...We actually looked at houses there. When I am forced out of my job (if, maybe 10 years or so) we may buy a house there. I really liked the fact that the kids can play there in the streets. The prices of the houses are a little less than in Dallas, so we could easily buy one there...

Would never turn dear Wife into a robot, but then again they never complained about cleaning, or Hungry Hampers...
;)

Awesome job RRBB! :hyper:

Lewski, if you read this when you get home, maybe Saturday to Tuesday would be better, because it looks like most are arriving on Saturday.
Whenever is fine by me. The sooner the better, deliver de letter.

Danauk...........did you get the package? What's up with that? It's been over 1 week and a half now.

BTW....I hate this work thing. It STINKS!!!!! I snuck on for a quick few late (now) and am getting ready to head out. I can't be doing this though. God, please help me.....it's so hard to stay away from you all.

Barb, I'd have called you today...but I was busy. Sorry, it sounds like you needed me.

Hey, what are YOU doing here? Aren't you supposedly to be working angelically? ;)

Ohanafamily, if you guys do move to Celebration, you MUST buy one of those little electric cars. Everyone down there had one.

Personally, I just couldn't deal with all those rules. Did I mention that not only am I a hedonist, but I'm an Anarchist too! ;)

It's funny you mentioned Stepford Wives in relation to Celebration! I thought it was so wierd...No one outside, no one moving around.

I mentioned Celebration to my cosmotologist at Disney, when she was doing my hair and make-up for the MK photos (4 AM on a Monday!) and she mentioned that Disney sold Celebration 6 months ago to some new corporation, since so many residents were complaining about the restrictions placed on them to live there. They appearently couldn't paint thier houses, hang things outside, had to mow the lawns on certain days, stuff like that.

I'd love to live that close, but it's too much like military housing for my taste! Especially hen it's MY house!

OK guys I'm back, I couldn't sleep!
Lewski709 still no package yet, I'll let you know when it arrives. Did you send it sea or air mail?

QOTD about guilty TV pleasures, where do I start? OK, x-files (of course after my user name! even the re runs), Friends, ER and Stargate SG1. They are my TV musts. Plus I love an English TV comedy series called Teachers although it is not on at the moment (saying that the DVD is on as I type).

I guess I really should be going to bed now, both cats are in so I guess they will want to be let out at some early hour!! I think I will read some Harry Potter (book 5 for the 2nd time, I have read all the others 4 times!) for a little while first.

Oh I have another QOTD before I go to bed: What book are you reading right now (or was the last book you read)?

I am reading Garrison Keillor's "Wobegon Boy". I was browsing around the bookstore and came across it. (I love Keillor's humor.) I read that it was about a Lutheran man living in Central New York, and that's all it took. LOL. I haven't got very far yet. But so far so good.

Back to cooking.
