So I suggested moving that one to Easter Eve. So I'm looking more forward to Easter this year than usual. We won't be so rushed all day long.
Might become a new family tradition???

I can't imagine bouncing all over the place to celebrate a holiday, like Christmas. I've heard so many horror stories that I'm thankful I celebrate Hanukkah instead. It's eight nights so we can celebrate it with the in-law, celebrate it with my family (if they happen to be in town), celebrate it with friends, and even celebrate it in the comfort and quiet of our own home by ourselves WITHOUT offending or upsetting anyone and without having to run all over town. Oh the joys of being Jewish.

What a world we live in, eh? I took a few minutes to clean out the bag I use to carry to work. And the first thing I did? I took inventory of my "emergency" stuff. Lighter, handheld short wave radio, flashlight, Advil. Seeing this stuff really made me a bit depressed. I hope nothing happens in this city that makes me need to use this stuff...

(sigh)

:(

WooHoo!! The picture was beautiful!!!!! :teeth:

I'm soooo bored!!! Anyone have anything interesting to do, LoL!?!?!?!?!:teeth:

RRBB my family and Hanukkah would just mean more places to be more nights.

Rick, at first I was surprised to read that you carry those items around with you. But then after thinking about it, I can understand. :(

oddball27, if you can think of something exciting for us to do, I up for it! I'm bored too.
 I've got another half an hour in the office, then I have to pick the kids up from school. They have hair appts. Eric is getting blonde highlights. (Well, blond-er highlights.) Hey, it's only 1:37. Are you done with school already?

Hey Lewski.

I wish I could think of something to do!! Nope, it's spring break this week for us!! It's almost over though....:( Oh well!!:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

Hey, I know what we can talk about.

Let's discuss how SYRACUSE is going to win tonight's game. :teeth:

:wave2: Bichon and Nutball!

Danauk do you have a Doc Martens outlet store there with low prices? How low, if so?

Good evening everyone,
I haven't caught up with the 8 pages that have been written since last night but I thought I would answer the Doc Martin question first. We have Doc Martin shops all over the place where I live. I actually live in the town Doc Martins were invented in so there are lots of Doc shops. I haven't bought any for a while as they last forever so I don't know how much they cost but I will have a look when I go into town on Saturday. I love my Doc's (I have 4 pairs of boots, 1 pair of sandals and 1 pair of shoes.) I managed to get a free pair of boots once as our children were doing show designs and the Doc Martin factory sent us some spare and second shoes for the kids to base their designs on. There were a few boots that made pairs so staff got them before the kids got their hands on them!!
Well I'll catch up with the rest of the posts and then post again.

I have 3 pair of Docs one of which needs some repair, but I have had them all quite some time and they still look great. I wear a UK6. I am looking for some black ones for work. No sandals, I like the buckle ones, loafers and the chunky heel type. I can get a pair on ebay for 33.99 plus 11.00 shipping.

FYI.....everyone, these shoes are pricey but I have bought them all NEW on Ebay for less than 50.00 and they last forever, are very comfy and look great. HIGHLY recommend.

Did you get your package?

The 80's seem to be coming back in quickly now. When we went to the mall last weekend, we saw Doc Martens and Roo's. Of course the Converse Chuck Taylors have been back in for a while. Some of them are great. Hot pink vinyl. Don't have to worry about getting those suckers clean. But I can't believe that they are selling for about $40 or $50! I think I used to pay $12.00 for a pair of Chuck Taylors. And can you believe people actually used to run and play basketball in those things?! Ouch!

Yeah, it really bites to have to think about things and worry. I absolutely hate to carry anything around but due to the state of the world right now, they might come in handy. Or even save mine or someone else's life. I'm still pretty bummed. Picking through that stuff really put me in a blah mood.

RickinNYC, it sucks you have to carry that stuff around with you. I guess there are good things about living in a not-so-highly populated area. I hope you never ever ever have to open that bag....EVER!!!

Bichon Barb, I have found the worst thing you can do is tell people what you are going to name your children. I remember when I was pregnant with Josh & Nancypants was pregnant with Griffin. I said if Josh was a boy, we were thinking of naming him Josh. My brother said if they had a girl, they were going to name her Savannah. Well, my brother said "Josh, isn't that a Jewish name?". I said "Savannah, isn't that a city in Georgia?". Whatever.

I don't have any doc martens. Most expensive shoes I have....Bichon Barb, are Birkenstock sandals. I love 'em. Back in the day I wore them year round (in the winter with wool socks!). Yep, I used to be way cool. Chuck Taylors for $50!!! Someone is making big $$$ on that item.

Okay Moderators, this is a one-time only comment & please don't close our thread; but, this is an emergency!

Lewski709 I haven't recieved a package yet, I'll let you know as soon as I do. Things take about a week to get here from the USA so it should be any day now. Are you talking about Doc Martin shoes or boots? Could you post a picture or link to what you were wanting so I can look for you at the weekend.

What a beautiful picture Kismetdreams your dress looks lovely.

As for the QOTD about splitting holidays between families. Not really a problem here, the only major family holiday we have is Christmas and as we live in the middle of the families we host christmas (we have since DH and I got married nearly 6 years ago.) DH parents live in the same county as us but at the other end, about an hour away. My parents live further up north about 2 1/2 hours away. For christmas we usually have both sets of parents visiting, my Grand MIL, my SIL and my uncle. My other Auntie and Uncle usually go to visit our relatives in Australia each christmas. We are beginning to think they have the best idea! So we plan for one more family christmas this year and then christmas 2005 will be spent at WDW with our friends. 2 weeks over christmas in the BCV!!! I hope it happens!

So does anyone have plans for this evening? I plan to relax in front of the TV as Thursday is my favourite TV night. I got in late from work tonight as I had parents evening straight after work. DH has parents evening too but his doesn't finish until 9pm so he should be home by 10pm

Oh well I guess I better go give the cats their wiskas for dinner, they are looking hungry.
