what do you drive?

99 Honda Odyssey...with a portable DVD player for the kiddos on long trips :)

A note on that: we have the Audiovox that you can add a second screen to...DON'T BUY IT!! I used to think this was a great model until the cord to the 2nd scrren MELTED while we were using it!!! Can you say FIRE HAZARD!!! When I called the company I was told "well, ma'am, that's outside our 90 warranty so if you want another cord you'll have to pay $25 plus $7 shipping to get a new one" When I said "well I'm really concerned about the fire hazard your product created in my car" she did'nt care, wouldn't take the info to pass to quality control, etc. So now I'm in the process of notifying the CPSC....would hate for someone else to have an on-bard fire!! We now only use the screen connected directly to the player rather than through a cord.

Can I add a QOTD? Since we have so many newbies buzzing about, let's do a refresher course.

What do you do for a living/how do you find time to be on the DIS?

I'm a SAHM. I find time to DIS while the kids nap or after they're in bed. They hardly ever let me near the computer if they're awake :) DH "pays the bills" (but don't tell him that...he is oblivious to money/pay issues...I do all the books)....he's an intelligence officer in the Navy.

oohhhhhhhhh, reminds me. I had a waterbed with a Sunbeam heater. It malfunctioned burning through and melting a hole in the bed, while we were sleeping. Luckily, there was a default on it that when it got wet....it cut off electricity. However, Sunbeam paid for all repairs (new bed, carpet, flooring under carpet, etc). I had to take the heating pad to an electric specialist, have him write a letter that the thing was defective and then send everything to Sunbeam with photos. I did get the money.

I would contact the manufacturer. Good Luck!

Ok, since I gave you the mop ;) I guess I can help you fix this one. Here it is the correct size.

Toyata Camry. I love my car, but for some reason ohanafamily often asks if I want a new one. What's up with that??? It's 7 years old and still has less than 35,000 miles on it.

QOTD:

2001 Volvo wagon 2.4T (with Tar Heel magnets on the front doors) GO HEELS!

Right now I am a stay-at-home-mom who volunteers TOO much! I am Chair of 3 committees at DS9's school and am a committee Chair within the Jr. League which is a lot of UNPAID work but mostly fun, even if I have to deal with a bunch of snobby witches who think they own the world (however, their husbands mostly do)

Before DS9, the bitter divorce and WONDERFUL alimony settlement..........I was a travel agent back when travel agents were actually needed and got great benefits......like free cruises, free flights and upgrades, free hotel stays and such.....I got to travel all over and completely LOVED it!!! Now it literally just doesn't pay to be a travel agent any more.......oh how I pine for the good ol' days when first class flights were the norm and I could stay at the Plaza for $30 :)......now I have to ride in the cattle car section and pay the regular airfares to boot!:(

There's a link to the Laughing Place Store in my original post! I think they do their shopping at DisneyLand. If anyone is heading out there, I'd love one! Otherwise, I may just have to order!

OK, just had to quote you because I was getting ready to ask geffric who was going to be left in charge of the chocolate-chip pancake maker
flapjacks.gif
while she was away. From time to time Cheeringmom pops in here and brings donuts or something, but she doesn't often fix us up the bountiful breakfast that our dear, sweet geffric does. I think you will make a GREAT substitute cook!

Second reason I quoted you, if you will notice where I have "bolded" your text, is because you sure do say y'all alot for a buckeye. Are you from the south? I'm gonna have to make you and honorary Kyian for your most excellent use of y'all.;)
P.S. I plan to get my pic's developed today!

ROTFLMAO llebrekniT - where do you get all those smilies? You crack me up! :teeth:

I drive a 2001 Honda Oddessy with no DVD player for the kids. They have to watch old timers VHS on the portable TV.

Okay, I will make breakfast from tomorrow until geffric gets back, unless someone beats me to the kitchen. If you wake up really early, you'll just have to hit the chocolate vault 'til I get in there to whip up my Martha Stewart best!

Now, honey chile, as far as this "buckeye" thing goes, no offense to Laura or any other Ohio lovers, I am so totally a transplant! I was born in south Louisiana, lived near Chicago during my formative teenage years, and then moved with family to Nashville waaaay back in 1973. (That being said, if Momma and DS and Sis were not in Nashville, I'd think Columbus was a pretty great place.) Lived in Music City USA for 28 years... so I come by that "y'all" pretty naturally.

And to top it off, my momma is from the Adair County seat, Columbia, Kentucky, and my daddy was raised in Louisville and went to Male High School when Male was all male! I've only missed seeing the Derby 3 times in my whole life, and a highlight was being there one year in person. I left my group and their mint juleps and pushed all the way down to the rail to sing "My Old Kentucky Home." I saw Willie Shoemaker win his last Run for the Roses. There's KY in my blood!

hmmm....

MY QOTD... do I ramble too much?

My AOTD ... oh well, sorry!!!

Ok, my friends... Gotta go to the hairdresser now and get the skunk stripe down my scalp taken care of. Will be a totally brunette bombshell (ha!) when I return. Remember, I am ANCIENT!

:) Kim

See you and DH tonight
I was thinking of wearing a formal gown, fancy jewelry, and maybe borrowing Nieceosaurus's tiara. Oh wait, that won't work because she's coming too and will probably want to wear it herslf.

Seriously, I'm a casual kind of gal.

Oh my! Don't drive much, huh? I'm with you....if you don't need one, why spend the $$?

Our van was bought 2 years ago with 30K miles on it. It now has 76K! So 36K in 2 years and I'm a SAHM!! It's becsuse all our family is 6-10 hours away and we go see them whenever we can. Plus, we like to just get in and drive somewhere new on the weekends, just to explore...

That reminds me of my aunt...she had her 79 Honda for 11 or 12 years and only managed to put 60K miles on it! YIKES!!

sorry, kadaten I really hope I did not offend you.

I'm so excited. I'm going to meet Mad4Mickey tonight. I better go pick out which of my pretty dresses to wear. Should it be my white bridesmaid dress or my pretty purple dress or maybe my Tinkerbell outfit. No, I think I'll wear my Cinderella ball gown and tiarra. (That is if RRBB will let me.)
