Don and Nancy-pants made it to MIL's house 1/2 way through the Easter egg hunt. I think it was MIL's friend who asked if we should wait for them to arrive before we did it and if DHB didn't say it out loud I'm sure I must have heard her saying in her head - HELL NO!

Nancy complained about being exhausted from her sleepover and day at the race track. Her kids are still not able to look you in the eye and talk to you. It's like they are missing a connection or something. One of them wandered around most of the night looking like a lost and forgotten puppy. Nancy half-joked, half-bragged that if their house doesn't sell soon, they'll have 3 mortgages! May I inform you of what those are? OK -

1. Primary residence - on the market for $380,000
2. Newly built lakehouse - approx. value $250,000 - $300,000
3. House under contract for $479,000 - but it needs a lot of work, say oh, $150,000 of work!

She then gave my 3 kids and Lainie their birthday gifts. Yes, it was nice she remembered. They were in grocery bags and everybody got swim wear from Meijer. Guess you gotta cut corners where you can.

ANYTHING is better than the Killer Easter Bunny sig....it really gives me the willies....I've never been very comfortable with a giant rabbit breaking into peoples' houses just to leave a basket of candy....I'm grateful and all that, but really, what must other cultures think? The Easter bunnies at the mall are just the weirdest....it's not like a jolly old man who goes ho, ho,ho....the bunny can't talk and just stares with a goofy smile.....truly frightening!

Hey everyone!

I was going to tell the Nancypants story, but it looks like it has been covered. BTW, when it was asked whether we should wait for nancypants & Don to start the egg hunt, I said "Nope, let's do it!" (and yes, I did say it out loud).

I'm off to work. Someone's QOTD: I work part-time at the cable company. I work 8-5 on Saturday & Sunday & I work for a few hours on Friday & Monday nights. It allows me to stay home with the monkeys during the week. I just started working Fridays about a month ago, trying to save for Disney!

QOTD: I am a stay-at-home-mom but I also have a full-time job running a business with DH. I handle the phone calls and office work from home, luckily. That and some errands around town, I'm very fortunate.

What's for dinner tonight folks? I'm making a baked chicken casserole thingie that's very yummy and perfect for this cold, rainy night. The kids won't like it or the green beans that are going to be positioned next to it on their plates.

Well, since Daniel and Ella's are both too small and Holly's is too big, I wish I could re-gift them. But, she left the tags on them and instructed me to take them back if they don't fit. I think I'll do just that!

And her parenting skills have been evaluated already. She seeks professional advice on everything that comes her way. She's one of the by-the-books types. Probably has read all the parenting manuals on the market.

DHB please, PLEASE, tell them the ****** and ***** story.

My personal checks are the new Disney princesses set. I need to re-order business checks and I went to the website for the company I got the princess ones from and they have new Disney ones:

Really cute. Even thought it's for the business, I order whatever tickles my fancy. Sometimes DH complains, but usually if it's flowers, he'll like these.

Yes, share the photos TB! I need a Disney fix. DH keeps change his mind about this August trip. Remember we were going pull the trailer down to FW in late August, but then we started talking about going to Atlanta to see my sister instead? Well last week he started talking about how he'd really would like to do FW. I'm glad I didn't mention to my sister that we were probably going to visit her.

Well I had an idea and shared it with him. He looked at me like I was insane, but I bet I've got him thinking about it. I told him that now that he has wireless internet capability, we don't we hire a temp to answer the phone, etc., and take a two week vacation this summer! We could take two days to drive to Hotlanta, camp at Lake Lanier for four days, then take another day to get to FW and camp a week there. Then we could drive home in two to three days. (I have a thing against driving with two boys and two dogs on long trips. It's gotta be fun or forget it. I don't like to stress on vacation. Believe me. If we do this, we are buying one of those car DVD player! )

Anyway, eventually he did say "Well, my dad took off five weeks when we were kids so that we could drive across the country". Well hello!!! Don't be a martyr!!! We could do this if we wanted to!!! Hello!!!

Oh, we are having burgers and couscous with some tomatoes thrown in and corn on the cob.

Do DB and Nancypants do any fun vacations or anything with the kids?

Don and Nancy-pants alternate weekends, one of them is always going somewhere out of town. They take turns and then they also take many, many trips every year without the kids. They will take the kids down to FL. to visit her parents for a few days and they have been to WDW with them 2x and actually really liked it. They just wouldn't want to travel with those kids as much as we do with ours. They don't understand that we take our kids in restaurants, they don't see how this can possibly be.

DHB again, I'm asking you, please tell them about when the kids HAD to learn to swim.
