Hey everyone, so what have you all being doing this afternoon/evening? I was watching the England football (soccer) team play again against Croatia. We made a bad start and Croatia scored in 5 minutes, then I guess I fell asleep as we were suddenly in the 65th minute of the game and we had scored 3!!!! We eventually won 4 - 2 and so we are through to the last 8 teams of the competition.
Right now I am watching Big Brother on TV and enjoying a glass of wine.

Hey guys!
Busy day here. Why is it when we are hardly home on the weekend it takes me so long to get this joint cleaned up on Monday? I've been at it off and on all day, between going to the grocery store for a major stock-up and being mom and doing office work and it's still a complete mess!
Anyway, took a brief break to stop in and see what's up here.

Lovely poster Mr. Ed.
We love movie posters and had intended to fill our basement walls with them. Never got started on it and instead we have hung our DVD cases all over. It looks really neat because they are like tiny movie posters. We have a DVD player that holds 300 DVD's so we don't use the cases anyway.
So for rest of the basement we have begun buying the classic ride posters from MK. You know the ones under the Main Street railroad station? We have POTC, Tea Cups and Splash Mountain so far.
Guess I better get back at it again. See ya!

WARNING: RANTING TO BEGIN HERE...
You know how I was supposed to check with the doc on Katie today? Well, I called about 9:30 this a.m. and her doc wasn't going to be in until 1:00, so I explained the whole coughing, doc requested me to check in before our Cal. trip tomorrow, etc etc. She said she'd talk to Doc when she got in and call me back. At 3:45, I still hadn't heard anything, so I called. The nurse said she hadn't had time to "go back there" and that she would as soon as she could!!! I explained again that we are leaving in the morning, and asked if she waited much longer how the doc would be able to see Katie if she wanted to. She said, "oh, Dr. is on late duty tonight so she can see Katie tonight if necessary." I said, "oh dear, we have to go to something important tonight." However, I wanted to say: "WHOA nursie-poo! Kelley's big Young Life Camp Follow-up Party is at 7:30 tonight and I don't want to miss it. I have missed my kid and have been looking forward to tonight for more than a week. I am willing to stay up all night packing if I have to, but I don't want to miss this Parent time with their kids." GRRRR... She said she'd check with Doc and get back with me. 30 minutes later she calls me and says, "Doc wants you to take Katie for a chest X-ray now, then after they send the Doc the preliminary results tonight, we'll call you back and tell you what Doc wants to do." Now we LOVE this doc, but her office staff is worthless, in case you haven't noticed. Okay, so I take Kelley home from grocery where we were when the call came in, took Katie over for the chest x-ray, and that whole process took an hour, now I'm home playing the waiting game ... again. The X-ray technician said they would fax the preliminary results over "now" whatever that means. Somehow I think I'm gonna miss my oldest's first camp experiences and I'm terrified something is horribly wrong with Katie. What, besides cancer or tuberculosis, might this be? If it was pneumonia, couldn't they hear it on a stethoscope or wouldn't Katie be sicker?

Don't you think the doc would have heard bronchitis??? I always expect the worst so I'm hopefully pleasantly surprised... kinda sick, huh? It's the waiting for the phone call when I know that the blankin' fax is sitting on their fax machine and no one feels any compunction to hurry it to the Doc. Have no patience tonight for laziness, stupidity, or incompetence. Come to think of it, I rarely have patience for those things!
I just remembered that last year when we went to Cal., I never went to bed the night before we left. It was just easier to move at my own pace and do things thoroughly after everyone was asleep. That may be the plan for tonight, then I won't feel so rushed. Boy, I can certainly understand your frustration [COLOR=66FF00]iluvtink[/COLOR]. And once all this is cleared up I wouldn't have any problem giving that office staff a piece of my mind if you want. These days I really have no patience for the crud you've been put through today. And as ohanafamily can confirm, I am very good at telling it like it is, and when I get on a roll... look out! I hope you get a call back real soon and don't have to miss Kelley's post-camp party.

everyone. It's been a busy day for me, starting with our 6:30am workout. I finally got started on the 100+ menus for MIL's party this weekend. I've actually got about 30 of them complete. I would have more done but I had to go pick up ohanafamily's car from the dealership this afternoon. Then it was off to the scrapbooking store to buy some cardstock for a swap I've got to get done this weekend - Animal Kingdom this time. I'm doing borders and a quote/poem for Pangani Forest Exploration Trail and it's taken me forever to come up with an idea for it. And I just got home from Sam's Club where I picked up some groceries and dinner for tonight. (I'm still not really feeling up to cooking but I'm tired of eating out.)Tonight I've recruited ohanafamily to help me cut leaves for my AK swap. No, he doesn't have to cut them by hand, I have a die cutting machine and a die for jungle leaves. The thing is - and I don't think he knows this yet - I think I need around 400-500 leaves. He'll probably poop out on be way before that, but whatever he does for me will be a big help.
Oh, while I was at the scrapbook store today I saw the issue of Creating Keepsakes Magazine that my layout is in. I didn't think they'd get it until next month but it turns out they got their first batch of that magazine last week - I think before I even got my subscription in the mail.
Anyway, I picked up several copies of it - ohanafamily told me to.

I was told today that since I go to work at 8 and leave at 5, regardless of how much I do....that's pretty much the reason I can't climb the corporate ladder any higher. I am at rung 3 and there are 2 rungs above me. It's a huge JOKE and GAME. Some people BS all day long and stay late to finish up. Some just push papers around and then come in on Sat's as the big boss is there and it looks good. Hmf! Not me, I do my work and go home. Even with the extra work of 1/2 of another body that's missing, I don't need to put in extra time. Of course I am female too....another strike. Oh and did I mention that my family is more important was mentioned???? Hell yes, they are more important. DUH!

Doc called 4 minutes before Kelley and Dad were supposed to leave for the camp thing. I was so upset that I couldn't go. Ed hardly ever gets to do anything with her, so I'm glad he could take her even though I have to miss it. And I did tell her how incompetent and uncaring her office staff was. She did the right thing and sounded totally mortified.
The X-ray was clear, and now she wants Katie to take albuterol (for possible asthma) to see if that helps. So I have to go to the pharmacy before 9 to pick up the prescription... so, once my face doesn't look like I've been crying anymore, I'll hop in the car and go get it. I only picked up 7 various diabetic etc medicines this afternoon, could they have taken care of this any sooner and saved me a trip? heck no!

NC Beast took me out to California Pizza Kitchen today---after I refuse his gracious offer of a hotdog from a cart outside of Lowe's hardware store. He also bought me a big Lindt Macadamia Nut chocolate bar. He has been weirder than normal with his lack of sleep (bad allergies/cold).

Just a quick pop in to see how the docs went for Katie. Albuterol is not a bad idea. It will help a lot. I had forgotten Lauren got that besides the zurtec. If anything it will get you thru the trip. Doubtful it is asthma but time will tell. Have a good trip ILUVTINK. Just rest up!!
After a day of packing and heartburn, I'm zonked. OIff to bed I go. Fear factor is a rerun so I think I'll just read and head off to bed.

Its cook in a brick oven and very good---I'm not a big pizza fan, but I like their pizza the best. I guess it would be similiar to Wolfgang Puck's pizza.

Track was good! It wasn't really very eventful......well unless you call swatting mosquitoes and talking to your friends eventful. After our workout, I basically layed on the grass and talked to my friends. It was fun, but the bugs are sooo bad there! Our regular track is getting re-done because it's in really bad shape, so we're at the next town over's track and it's really wet there, so the bugs are SOO bad!! I'm like covered in bug bites!! But it was fun!! We have our first meet on thursday though, so I should have been practicing, not goofing off!!How was your day??
