You want to hear about drama at school ohanafamily I have plenty of those stories too....

I once spoke to a parent about his son who stole some items from a shop on a museum trip. The boy was new to the school but we knew he was a handful. But as he was new we thought we would give him the benifit of the doubt (we were wrong!). However I was telling his dad this was unacceptable and would he speak to his son about it. I found out a few days later the parent had just been let out of prison after serving a sentence for armed robbery!!:scared:

I have more where they have come from!!

What's that saying? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree....

Well, had a pretty nice morning. Went to Sears to get $20 back since the paper said my dvd player wasn't on sale during the Satuday morning 10% off sale but it really was and I would've bought it then! For that $20 I can get another DVD :teeth: Also got some white shirts for the kids...thinking of doing some casual portraits in Disney....and I like us to match at least in color for portraits...

DH called his detailer and told him he'd take the job so
TAMPA HERE WE COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOOOOO HOOOOO!!!!!!!!

OK, WTMI time. I used to weigh a lot more. I would eat at McDonalds etc for every meal. I discovered that if I went to Golden Corral I could eat for less than what I paid at Mcd. Also, after the first few times of "Trying to get my monies worth" I found I could eat reasonably well. I would pick one bad item, and get steamed veggies, a salad, rotissery chicken etc. They have lots of bad stuff on the buffet, but again, after a couple of times I was able to resist easily...As far as Garden Grill... I pig out on the Salad...

Ohanafamily, your plan is good in theory but it don't do none good for me.

Hey everyone!

ohanafamily, bummer about your DN's. Maybe you should plan a Magical Gathering with the entire family. You could plan everything & be "tour guide ohana". I'm sure you'd enjoy being in control...LOL!
Hey what about doing a MG for our meet in October? We could get into some of the cool Grand Gatherings events!! We did the Peter Pan/Wishes cruise in December and LOVED it! So good!! Worth every penny!! And I've read just fabulous reviews of the Animal Kingdom Safari Dinner....pricey, but supposedly worth it, too!! What say you all you October travelin' TAGLIKINS??
kadaten, how long is your drive to WDW? Are you going drive at night? What's the plan? Have I mentioned how jealous I am?????
Deadheadbelle The drive is 11 hours if we don't stop (like when DH and I went with no kids in November...only stopped for gas and meals at the drive through). With the kids, it's more like 12-13 because we go in for meals, stop to stretch legs, change diapers, more frequent potty breaks for Abbie (age 3). Last time (December) we drove at night....because we had to, but I thought it worked out well. DH, however, is nowhere near as good at functioning on no sleep as I am (and can't sleep in the car) so he was dazed for 24-48 hours :( Might as well drive in the day and get a full night's rest. So, we'll pick Abbie up from preschool at noon and get her lunch at the drive thru (the rest of us would have eaten at home) and get on the road. That's right before naptime, so we should be able to make it a few hours before we have to stop the first time :) Have a snack, let the kids run around a few minutes, then back in the car until dinner time, which will hopefully be at a Cracker Barrel (they have veggies rather than just fries). Then we change into jammies, get a full tank of gas, and put on a movie. When the movie's done it's lights out for the kids...sleepytime! We should arrive Shades of Green between midnight and 1am....Quickly get to bed since we have a breakfast date at Chef Mickey's at 9:30am!! We'll be tired, but the excitement and adrenaline should get us through...even DH :)

Have I mentioned how excited I am!?!?!?! Spent the morning gathering outfits for the kids, putting away laundry, seeing what still needs to be washed, etc. Only less than 4 days to go!! Woo hoo!!!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I forgot I wanted to reply to the AYCE thing.

I like them if the food is really good. Really the only time we do them is at WDW, and the occassional Pizza Hut lunch buffet that the kids love.

I usually feel like no matter how much I eat I will get my moneys worth because I'm a taster. I taste everything, but finish few things. I will finish whatever shrimp or prime rib I get and then I will try just about everything else. If it is good I'll eat at least 1/2 of the scoop of whatever it is and if it isn't, I leave it on the plate.

I do this with the desserts too. Except I get one of everything they have and taste them all and then I eat all of whichever one of them is yummiest usually. This is my favorite part of the buffet. I can't imagine not trying all the desserts. It's unfathomable to me.

I am always pushing the kids to eat more at the buffets and I make sure they don't eat before we go. It cost $10 and up for them at most of the WDW ones. Then Holly will go in there and pick up crackers off the salad bar, 4 olives, a cheese cube and 3 or 4 strawberries.

We looked into it, and we would have to link our ressies. Some families think we are Axe Murderers and are going to accidentally meet up. and I think you need at least 8 people per magical event.....and we are all arriving and departing at different times there is only one weekend we will all be around.

Sorry, I posted the details about 100 pages back (or so) when we first started the meet concept. It was a great Idea then, and is still a good idea...just not really doable

Yes, this worries me. We're paying for Abbie for the first time this trip! Annual Pass....no problem...we'll get our money's worth out of it! But the meals...geez! I just wish that had a price for the "barely picks anything off her mom's plate" type kids  They will DEFINITELY be making lots of $$ off all the meals we'll pay for for her this time around. In the a la carte places she just eats some of ours (if anything) but at the character meals and buffets we'll have to pay for her...oh well. I knew that when I made the PS, but still....I will definitely flinch paying $10 for her at each of the buffet and/or character meals we have planned. May just have to switch one or two of those, come to think of it....

Yeesh! Am I the only one who hates this?

no. I hate buffets too. If I'm going out to eat I don't want to have to get up from the table to go and get my food. I can do that at home. The only buffets I like are at WDW b/c I have a chance to see the characters interacting with other guests. Fun.

Congrats kadaten on the Tampa assignment. Glad you are looking forward to Florida!!!

Kadaten, I think you can pay $5.00 just to sit at a character meal and eat nothing. I know where you are coming from. Lauren just turned 3 and we paid for all of her meals and she did not one thing at Cindy's nada, zilcho. and all the others, very little. And then someone told me about the $5 sitting fee. Just a thought. I'm sure if she eats a piece of bacon they won't go haywire on you. Just a thought but check into it first.

Wow! Learn something new every day! So how does it work? Can DH and I still eat and pay full price and just pay the $5 for her? That would be so cool! She just really doesn't like to eat these days.....sometimes she'll eat her weight in whatever you put in front of her but lately...nothin'

kadaten another thing - and I'm not sure if this works at all the buffets, but at Ohana's I knew that Holly wouldn't be too interested in most of what they serve and asked if she could order chicken strips instead. Instead of paying $10 for her to not eat we paid $6 and she got chicken strips and french fries. Even though our server knew that she wasn't doing the whole meal, he offered her some of the meats everytime he came around. She tried a little and really liked the steak.

Should I post it again?

Yes, I think so -

And this is what she ate at every other buffet we did -

And I volunteer ohanafamily to race, too. It'll be boys racing and girls cheering. Yeah, I think that works. :p

Err, yes it is. The boy in question later threw a table and chair at me (he was made to leave the school after that one!). Fortunately for me PE was not one of his strong points and he missed!:duck:
It makes an interesting story now but was scary at the time. The boy was only 9 years old!!

Really Scary... I guess now we have the Danauk Files Scary but true Stories from Elementary school.....

:bounce:

Oh, Danauk, I sent you a PM...

NC Beast, for the kids a coconut race is them pushing a Coconut with a broom, trying to get to the Finishing line, for us it will be who can down the most drinks (in a Coconut cup) in 5 minutes.....

Good thing you're OK. Personally, I probably would have seriously considered filing assault charges. He needs to be taught a lesson.
