why are the on-site rates so high for October???

Disney has only released discounts through July 4 with their Summer Dreammaker package. I'm watching for August discount codes for my sister, and October ones for the TAGLIKINS who are blessed enough to go. Oops, duty finally calls. Gotta go be a mom and pick up kids at school. I'll be checking back in though. Y'all have a good rest of the afternoon.

$320+ for 7 nights at FW in late August. :bounce: Me likes!

I just got this e-mail from Lewski. Thought it was cute:

Can not post for the remainder of the day.............but
Yes, been to US and like it. Used to live less than 3 min away and could watch the nightly fireworks from my screened in balcony. Old BF's mom used to work there, so I went often. BF worked at WDW, so went there too. Then new BF, firefighter, got tickets for WDW all the time and took me. Thinking back, I should've just bought an AP. Does an AP get you in to PI too? Oh no, I think I remember seeing that an AP for PI was $60, when we were there in Jan.

Quick math:
216 hotel
175 flight
55 WDW x 2, right? = 110
23 PI
20 PS for Character Bfast
200 spending (food/other)
Total approx 750.00

Four days with a Taglican(s) ----> Priceless

Woo hoo!! Thanks, llebrekniT!

Y'all have sure been chatty this morning! 10 pages since I logged off in the wee hours this morning!! Will take me longer than the kids will sleep to catch up, so will just have to read it tonight...

DH hopped a plane to San Diego this morning. Back late Friday, then off to Germany Saturday afternoon for a week. Sounds like fun but it's all work, little to no time to play, and he hates flying commercial....just too much trouble these days and no fun. Poor baby! Told him I'd gladly swap places but I'm afraid I'd sound like an idiot trying to lead his meetings!! So it's just me and the kids this week.....let's see how long we last before I offer them to the gypsies

(For the mommy police out there, I'm just kidding! That's our family in-joke to say I've had it up to here with the kids today :teeth: Really :teeth: )

WANTED: CHAPERONE

Wanted: Chaperone to escort Bichon Barb and Lewski on a trip to WDW on Columbus Weekend 2004. Must be a fun person who can take a three day trip without *baggage. (*Baggage would include--but is not limited to--SO's, children, PMS and prudishness :teeth: .) This is not an equal opportunity--females and gay men need only apply. Must be at least 21 years or older. ::yes::

Seriously, can we talk anyone else into joining us??? Come on!

Okay, I called AAA. They had availability at POFQ for 10/9 to 10/12 at about $144 a night (no AAA rates available). I would need to make a one night deposit. Have until six days before to cancel.

Got on TMA website. They only do reservations five months in advance, so they don't have their flights up for October.

I could fly Jet Blue and arrive around noon on Saturday and leave about 10:20 a.m. on Tuesday for about $250 round trip. Actually, there was a later flight, but it didn't get me in Syracuse until almost midnight.
I'll ask my DH. Of course, he is beginning to think I'm a little nuts spending so much time on the 'puter. And his mom would have to come sit the kids since he will be out bobbing in the middle of the Atlantic somewhere....and she usually can't plan that far ahead. I might be better used as a last minute 4th to further divide costs if I find I can go. But boy do I want to go! My AP doesn't expire until Nov 1, so that would let me eek out another trip on it! And, I can get you a FL resident rate if they come out! Woo hoo! And I have the Disney Dining Experience (20% off at most restaurants!) See....I'm a good one to have along! (Although my DH says I snore about half the time....would the discounts be worth it to you?)

I would love to try for October but my roadtrip with DBF will take most of my cash

Congrats on the new job!!

Gotta ask....were you a travel agent before you went in to ask about this or no? I help friends/family plan their trips all the time and everyone tells me I should do it prfessionally, but I figured you had to be an agent first. Like with a travel agent's certification or license, or whatever they get (can you tell I have no idea how the industry works? I've always done my own...and everyone else's!!)

Hey guys!

Don't forget to watch Amercian Idol tonight. They are singing (well, most of them are singing) movie themes. The celebrity guest judge is.........

Quentin Tarantino! I am so excited. I love him. I bought Kill Bill Vol.1 on DVD today. Vol. 2 comes out at the theaters Friday....can't wait.

OOoooo, QOTD:

Have you ever been to Universal and do you do any non Disney activities when you go to Orlando?

I've never been to US. Except for a couple of trips, most of the time when we go to Florida, we start out by staying a few nights with in-laws in SW Florida, then we drive up to WDW for a few nights.

Went for the first time in November. We have friends who have a timeshare so we stayed with them and they wanted us to do US with them before Disney. 2 half days at US and IOA was more than enough for me. Love the coasters, but I really go for the magic and they don't have it. I left IOA with splitting headaches....they tried to create ambiance by blaring the music. In the superheroes section you couldn't talk to anyone...well you could, but they couldn't hear a word you said. It was just ridiculously loud :( And I'm a youngster that likes loud music!!

Probably won't go back for several years....when the kids start wanting more coasters....

That is a bit pricey IMHO..

October is regular season (thus, high rates) due to Columbus Day holidays, Halloween party, and F&W festival. Sucks, doesn't it?!

kadaten I am always booking things for people. Booked Vegas for my parent 2 weeks ago and a cruise for them last week. It's always ME people turn to to book their stuff.....cuz I get good rates with much research and NO PAY. I do enjoy doing it though.:p

I did not!!!! I was commenting on potential chaperones....
